It’s also why we know first-hand just how tough it can be to juggle family and career responsibilities. We asked the working parents of Care to share what really helps them, well, work. Gincy George, MSW, LSW, Senior Care Advisor, shared that "Even through all the new, stressful, but exciting changes in my life, knowing that Care had my back through it all was phenomenal" as she became a new mom. One of the key themes of yesterday's first ever National Child Care Innovation Summit was that solutions will require collaboration and a willingness to think beyond "providing child care for people working 9-5 in an office." What about parents working overnight shifts, late nights in restaurants, or on construction sites where their day starts at 6 AM? We're proud of our partnership with Suffolk Construction and our work to provide flexible child care access for working families in construction—an industry facing a workforce shortage and working hard to bring more women into the mix. After drawing applause multiple times throughout his panel discussion with Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, Etsy's CEO Josh Silverman, UPS' EVP & U.S. President Nando Cesarone, and Micron Technology's EVP of Global Operations Manish Bhatia, Suffolk CEO John F. The average cost of child care for two children is higher than the cost of rent in all 50 states. Let that sink in. We need answers, solutions, and action from our leaders.
