Career Allied Services’ Post

In April 2024, the University Grants Commission (UGC) announced that students with four-year undergraduate degrees can now directly take the National Eligibility Test (NET) https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/. This is a significant change as previously, a master’s degree was required. Here’s a breakdown of the new policy: Students with four-year bachelor’s degrees (eight semesters) can appear for the NET exam. They can appear for the NET in a subject different from their undergraduate major. To be eligible for a PhD with or without a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), students need a minimum of 75% marks in their undergraduate course. This new policy is expected to streamline the process for students interested in pursuing research careers. #UGC #NET #PhD #Research #HigherEducation #Students #4YearDegree #NewPolicy #opportunities
