Did you know it's Counseling Awareness Month, AND it's also World Book Day?
We have two phenomenal licensed social workers on our team who provide 1:1 and group career counseling and case management services to our clients, so this is our chance to "give them their flowers" by spotlighting the outstanding work they do and giving you a reading recommendation from them, too!
Today's team spotlight is on Amanda Smith.
(Career Counselor for Tech Women of Color program in partnership with Per Scholas Columbus).
What do you like about being a career counselor?
"What I really like about being a career counselor at New Directions is that I get to work directly with Women of Color who are going out into the world of tech to make a difference in real time. I admire each of the women I work with, encouraging them to create change wherever they go on the micro, mezzo and macro levels. This is the joy-bringing work that I get to do every day!!"
