While the four-day workweek is becoming an increasingly popular benefit preference among employees, it "is still exceedingly rare, however; an Indeed analysis found that while more job postings mention four-day workweeks, that number only rose from 0.1% in September 2019 to 0.3% in September 2023." With all the buzz about the notion of a 4-day workweek (other countries have experimented with success), there’s a push in the other direction from a number of business leaders. A poll by Resume Builder this spring found that one in ten business leaders expect employees to start working a 6-day workweek in the next year. More than half of leaders said such a change would increase revenue. Yet, employees consistently rank work-life balance as more important than pay. “What’s going on here, Michael?” Well for one thing, 64% of the respondents to the Resume Builder poll were men. And with all the attrition of women in the workforce since the pandemic, this is a fact we should pay attention to. Yes, you could push your staff to work another day a week to increase productivity and revenue. But ultimately, is it the right thing to do?

I would be more than willing to work longer hours over 4 days to get a 4-day work week. It's a fact that the happier and more appreciated employees are made to feel, the more loyalty, commitment, and productivity you will get from them. It would be interesting to see the improved retention metrics that companies may experience if they choose to pilot this program. Thoughts? https://lnkd.in/gmb5WYK3
Dozens of companies are trying it. It remains a heated topic of conversation for workers and firm leaders. Now, at least in the UK, there appear to be some strong results from firms testing a four-day workweek. Will it succeed? https://krnfy.bz/492oorv #careers #workweek #jobs

Recruitment Sales Partner sourcing “THE VERY BEST” SDR’s, BDM’s, AE’s, Sales Leaders and C-level Execs | Trusted Advisor in SaaS, Telecom, and Cybersecurity | USA & UK I
Diary planning is key in any sales role. Without it, your finished. In recruitment there are so many daily activities to balance. For instance, between Monday and Thursday. I always block out three hours in the morning for business development. The afternoon and early evening is split between sourcing and candidate calls in the evening. Fridays are for job adverts, training and any other recruiting activities. I’ve always worked this way in agency recruitment. It keeps me disciplined and provides a solid structure to my working week. What does your working week look like? #WorkingWeek #DiaryPlanning

I will never offer my employees a 4-day work week. Because we tried it - It had a huge impact on our performance. - Our productivity plummeted. - Our morale went down the tubes. - Our revenue slumped. Actually, it was one of the worst trading years we've had in years. I am all for flexibility. We have offered it as a standard as and when it was needed since I started trading 20 years ago. But mandating how business owners run their businesses isn't just unfair, it's potentially pretty damaging to the employer - and employee. SME's account for 3/5 of employment in the UK - and nearly half of the turnover generated from the private sector. If businesses cannot make a profit because of the reduction in working days, people won't have jobs. And if people don't have jobs, there is no economy. And I am so pro taking care of your teams. You have to. Without them, you have no business - but an extra day off work is not the silver bullet. There's NO silver bullet. If you're an employer, you have be able to choose what's best for YOUR business's specific patterns and needs. Not the Government. So, no, I won't be implementing a 4 day work week at McCarthy Recruitment Will you?

This is the best place to work at if you don't give a f*ck about corporate bullcr*p. To have your entire life turned upside down from a person in HR who hasn't even been on your team is just traumatising. At Everything Design, the culture is more understanding. The bosses care. They respect whats going on in your life, and help you structure your work around your life. They don't expect you to make work your life. That doesn't mean they don't expect results. The expectation is higher. The expectation is fair.
