Calling all #Recruiters! Help me out with a question, please. What is up with this new trend of only calling candidates on the phone? I am used to the whole, "drop a phone call and immediately followup with an email if there is no answer" thing. But now I am getting a lot of recruiters leaving voicemail and nothing else. Feels vaguely shady, like not wanting to leave a paper trail. But I have to wonder if it's not something else. Are y'all trying to avoid job search automation or something? What gives? Inquiring minds want to know! It's feeling like it's the 1960s or something. Even the 80s had fax machines! Whatever the case, it's incredibly inconvenient and clunky, especially for those of us #jobseekers who try to organize our communications with recruiters for tracking purposes. If you aren't doing it for a purpose, please stop. No one wants to talk on the phone anymore and I, for one, would rather get an email than a phone call. Thanks!
