Firefighter survival is not only about saving yourself. It's about discipline, understanding, and acceptance while executing an absolute position on the fire. It's about detaching yourself from the chaos, calculating, and executing a reaction. It's about letting go and accepting that you have zero control of the situation at hand, and in return, you gain calm and complete control of conviction at the moment.
