In celebration of #NationalInternDay on July 25, we invited interns from CareFirst and the Washington Nationals to volunteer at the Giving Garden at Nationals Park. While giving back to their community, they learned about the social drivers of health impacting many District communities. As #DifferenceMakers, we empower our interns to learn about and engage with our community to truly live out our mission of advancing equitable, affordable and accessible healthcare for all. Community Involvement at Global Medcity Academy At Global Medcity Academy, we are deeply committed to giving back to our community and enhancing public health. In collaboration with Global Medcity AVM Hospital, we regularly organize free medical camps to provide essential healthcare services to those in need. These camps offer a range of medical services, from basic health check-ups to specialized consultations, making healthcare accessible to underserved populations. Our students gain invaluable experience through internships in various laboratories and community health centers. These internships not only enhance their practical skills but also instill a sense of social responsibility and community engagement. By working closely with healthcare professionals, our students learn the importance of compassionate care and community service. We are proud to play an active role in promoting health and well-being in our community, while also providing our students with the hands-on experience they need to excel in their careers. Together, we are building a healthier and more caring society. #GlobalMedcityAcademy #CommunityHealth #MedicalCamps #HealthcareEducation #StudentInternships #PublicHealth #ParamedicalTraining #CommunityService #HealthcareProfessionals #FutureHealthcareLeaders

Hello everyone, After a fulfilling week at ACME software lab under the guidance of my mentor, PAUL EMUROTU, I'm thrilled to be back with some exciting findings from my recent data analysis project! During my investigation into factors influencing the length of the breastfeeding period, I uncovered some fascinating insights. 👩👩👧👦 Relationship Status Impact: My analysis revealed that individuals living with a partner or in a married relationship tend to have longer breastfeeding periods compared to those who are single or separated. 💼 Work Dynamics Matter: Interestingly, I found that working individuals, particularly those with flexible work hours or self-employed, often experience shorter breastfeeding periods compared to those with fixed regular hours or part-time jobs. 📈 Predictive Accuracy: The Cox regression model suggests moderate predictive accuracy, indicating that while relationship status and working hours play significant roles, they may not fully explain variations in breastfeeding duration. Let's continue exploring and empowering families to promote healthy infant feeding practices and maternal well-being! From the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC): “Diverse perspectives and backgrounds in the health professions — spanning classrooms, labs, and clinical settings — enriches the educational experiences of all medical and health professions students and the teaching experiences of faculty. Diversity, including racial and ethnic diversity, is essential to improving the overall health of our nation. In fact, diversity cultivates an innovation mindset, catalyzes creativity and discovery, and enhances complex problem-solving, prediction, and forecasting.” Our Talent Garden youth summits and summer internship program inspires youth of color to pursue healthcare careers. It moves us in the right direction to improve outcomes for #BlackMaternalHealth and lessen health disparities in marginalized communities. #healthequity #BlackMaternalHealthWeek https://lnkd.in/g6zJ-C5n
