#dyk - As of 2024, the number of Public Access Defibrillators (PADs) in Scotland has grown significantly. There are now nearly 5,000 defibrillators registered across communities on the national network, known as "The Circuit." This represents a doubling of the number since 2019. This increase in defibrillators, along with a higher rate of bystander CPR (66.1%, the highest recorded), has contributed to improved survival rates from out-of-hospital cardiac arrests. 💡❤️👌Scottish Ambulance Service #FactFriday #RestartAHeart #DefibrillatorsScotland #HeartSafetyScotland #CPRReadyScotland #TheCircuitScotland

Public access to AEDs and community training plays a vital role in early defibrillation. Especially when you consider more than 15% of out of hospital cardiac arrests occur in a public location. The chance of survival while waiting for emergency services decreases by 10% with every passing minute without CPR. The use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in conjunction with high-quality CPR during a sudden cardiac arrest is crucial. Statistically 9 out of 10 cardiac arrest victims who receive a shock from an AED in the first minute live. Here at Life Support Systems we strive to ensure all communities are equipped and prepared to react during a sudden cardiac arrest Reach out to us today to schedule your CPR training, purchase AED equipment, or set up a service/maintenance program for your AED. Did you know, fewer than 1 in 10 people survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Two of the most important factors which influence survival include the time between cardiac arrest and attempted CPR, and early defibrillation. Defibrillation within 3-5 minutes of collapse can produce survival rates of up to 50-70%! 💙 If someone has become unresponsive and they are not breathing normally, they could be in cardiac arrest. Find out what to look for and what to do, including how to do CPR and use a defibrillator: Cardiac Arrest - Symptoms & First Aid Advice | St John Ambulance (sja.org.uk) https://lnkd.in/eqBHRG3V 0800 085 3211 #Pickerings #Lifts #LiftRepair #LiftMaintenance #Installation #NationalCoverage #YourTrustedPartner #KeepingYouMoving #LiftRepair #SJA #Restartaheartday
