35 Stage Wins for the Manx Missile! Wow wow wow!! Witnessing Mark Cavendish's record-breaking 35th stage win at the Tour De France is the stuff of legends. It's not often that legends end their careers on a high note, but Cavendish did just that. After the heartbreak of last year's abandonment due to a broken collarbone, today's victory is nothing short of miraculous. This momentous occasion has taught me several life lessons: 1) Believe in Yourself: Even when others doubt you, maintain a strong belief in your abilities. 2) Teamwork is Everything: Surrounding yourself with the right team is crucial for success. 3) Maintaining a Steady State of Mind: when amidst the chaos of daily life, it's the trust in one's instincts and training that guides rational action over emotion, paving the way to greater success. As someone who is half-Manx, this win holds a special place in my heart and no doubt for the rest of the Isle of Man. It's a reminder of the impact one can have and the importance of perseverance.
