Check out this video that I stumbled upon on YouTube, which shares some sage advice on the top 3 regrets people have at the end of their lives.
While you may have heard it before, it's always worth a reminder, especially from someone with first-hand experience.
According to the video, the top 3 regrets are:
1. Family - memories not materials.
2. Start now. No perfect time.
3. Do it for yourself, not others.
Let's strive to live a life with #noregrets.

Did you know that the name "mom" was actually coined by babies? "Ma" is the first sound most infants can make. That's why the word for "mom" starts with an "M" in almost every language. So, to all the "ma's" out there, happy Mother's Day! 💓

The Value of 'Life-Story' Work and Reminiscence in Dementia Care should Never be Underrated.
Last month, our Dad passed away peacefully in his sleep, but I was so happy that I had previously recorded his life-story. As a family, we enjoyed watching it alongside him and seeing how actively he was able to engage and once again, lead the narrative.
Understanding someone’s life experiences and helping them connect with their memories is essential for delivering person-centered dementia care. Our memories are culturally integral to who we are, and without them, it’s hard to maintain the sense of self that is so vital to our health and happiness.
That’s why life-story work and engaging in reminiscence activities are so important. It helps people reconnect with their past to improve their current well-being. Reducing the “cultural social gap” between individuals and professional care partners is imperative, and the sharing of life stories has so many benefits.
Learning about someone’s life experiences can help care partners build stronger, more empathetic relationships with them. Deeper insights into individual stories can further help in understanding behaviours and devising effective care strategies to help the person in difficult times.
Let’s not forget that it’s also lots of fun! Listening to the memories of older people and sharing stories can be surprising, fascinating, and educational.
So, both with your Loved Ones and Professionally – 'START RECORDING'.
