Did you know that there are 3 different types of Ego's? 1. Id, Ego, and Superego (Sigmund Freud): Freud's structural model of the mind includes the ego as one of its components. The ego is responsible for mediating between the unconscious desires of the id and the moral and societal constraints of the superego. 2. Self-Esteem Ego: This concept focuses on an individual's self-esteem, self-worth, and self-image. It relates to how a person perceives themselves and their abilities, which can affect their behaviour and decision-making. 3. Social Ego: This term can refer to the persona or image that a person presents to others in a social context. It's how individuals project themselves in different social situations, and it may differ from their true self. Is your 'Cup' ... 1. Full?- “is not dread of thirst when your well is full, the thirst that is unquenchable? 2. Half full? - For you to hold your destiny in your own hands you must carry other people on your journey through life. know there will be calm after every storm 3. Empty? - If you share your 'cup' with others, you may find that your cup is not so empty after all.

The negative ego is an aspect of ourselves that many of us are likely unaware of how deeply it influences us. The ego, in general, is the “I” that relates to our physical existence, providing structure, meaning, and perspective to our lives. However, the negative ego hijacks this system, introducing negativity that permeates our physical reality. This negativity can become so powerful over time that we begin to identify with it...... https://lnkd.in/gw7wJPTk

I'll be sharing the 7 Ways for 7 Days on here, but you can read all 7 of them at once on my Substack page: https://lnkd.in/gWuFmCwX Being an ally is not just about maintaining peace and tolerance of ‘differences’. In many ways, allyship is a path to selves-discovery that can be incredibly liberating for yourself. We often look at allyship as a linear path and a definite line from dot A to dot B. But, in reality, it is as non-linear, multi-polar, and relatively infinite within your lifespan as everything else in the universe. Here is one of seven cyclical ways you can pursue in any order to be a better ally: 2. Chase the Dreaded Questions Cognitive dissonance is a debilitating experience. When faced with questions, from within yourself or outside yourself that challenge deep-rooted belief systems that have shaped your upbringing and personal emotional makeup itself, you can unconsciously and reflexively react to it with a protective hostility. There is a natural inclination to defend what has defined you so far and shut down that inner questioning before your reasoning mind can decipher and formulate an answer that might change the way you relate with the world. Instead of running away from the dreaded questions, chase them and embrace them. They will hurt, they will sting, they will burn, but allow them to leave an impression upon you, seep into yourself, and set you free from the fear of the unknown and the unfamiliar. Question who created the rules and laws and codes that you adhere to, and question who all were omitted and oppressed and ignored for those systems to be enshrined. It is often this apprehension that prevents you from achieving liberation. #change #ally #pride #privilege #system #othering #intersectionality

What is the meaning of EGO ? In practice, “having an ego” simply means understanding the worldview through which you act–to get your own needs met as well as the needs of others. And that, of course, is in every leader’s job description. Ego is the self-image of who you are; it's that aspect of yourself where you consider YOU. It’s the thoughts & emotions you are identified with. The ego separates itself from everything else in the world; it’s like looking at everything else as NOT YOU, you as an individual are very distinct. The sense of ‘I’ ness. The ego is the identification of the self. The ego is very clean & very self-preservational. When one tries to pursue a higher level of achievement & success in consciousness in life, the ego tends to hold you back as it has lots of inertia & weight to it. It doesn’t want you to go out & explore reality. Regardless of how you are attached to yourself now, the fact is that you & the notion of you are highly illusory & fictitious. Seeing EGO independently will make this article incomplete; so let’s look at the bigger lens of Sigmund Freud who says human personality is made of 3 critical things, ID, EGO, and SuperEgo; combining these creates complex behaviors of human beings. The ID, EGO, and SuperEgo work together to create human behavior. The ID creates the demands, the EGO adds the needs of reality, and the SuperEgo adds morality to the action which is taken.

In the intricate dance of human psyche, our ego often yearns for revenge, manifesting as anger, sadness, and a whirlwind of negative emotions. Similarly, our desires and greed may tempt us to flee from challenges, cloaking us in fear, anxiety, and a sense of weakness. However, amidst this tumult, lies the key to freedom: consciousness. By observing and understanding our behaviors, we can transcend these primal urges and embrace wisdom. It is in these moments of heightened awareness that we find the power to act according to the needs of the hour, freeing ourselves from the shackles of bad feelings and paving the way for growth and resilience.

What if the version of you that could conquer anything already exists? Sometimes, all it takes is creating an alter ego—one that embodies everything you aspire to be. This version of you turns insecurities into strengths and doubts into confidence. It’s not about pretending—it’s about stepping into the character you need in that moment to push beyond limits. Your alter ego is fearless, focused, and unstoppable. Give them a name, build their traits, and let them take control when you need them most. Over time, this character becomes less of an act and more of who you truly are. The path to becoming the best version of yourself starts with tapping into the power you already have. Eventually, you won’t need to summon that alter ego—it will just be you. 🚨Check the link in the bio. #limitlesspotential #selfmastery #unleashyourpower #personalgrowth #alteregomindset

🔘 Today's GD topic is: Ignorance is bliss In certain contexts, ignorance can indeed offer a sense of bliss by shielding individuals from the burdens of knowledge. Psychologically, ignorance can serve as a protective barrier against feelings of anxiety and stress, allowing individuals to maintain a more positive outlook on life. Moreover, a state of ignorance often fosters a simpler, more contented existence, as individuals focus on immediate pleasures and eschew the complexities of deeper understanding. Cultural narratives abound with examples of characters who experience fleeting happiness due to their ignorance of impending danger or societal issues. However, while ignorance may offer temporary relief from emotional pain or trauma, it also comes with inherent in limitations and consequences. Ignorance can lead to missed opportunities for personal growth, poor decision-making, and vulnerability to manipulation. Thus, striking a balance between knowledge and ignorance becomes imperative, wherein individuals selectively engage with information while preserving their mental well-being. Ultimately, the notion that 'ignorance is bliss' underscores the complexity of human experience, challenging individuals to navigate the tension between the comfort of unawareness and the pursuit of knowledge."

Recently, Rahul S. posted (another one of his many interesting / spiritual posts) on a comment by Carl Jung: - “The first half of life is devoted to forming a healthy ego, the second half is going inward and letting go of it” - Carl Jung I commented that I've found that self-esteem works better for me than ego. Developing self-esteem means that you are willing to shine a light internally, and see what is wrong / right (ie the darkness within) with you. Ego seems to impede the process of self reflection. They both give you the needed confidence to deal with the stress that the world throws at you. That gave rise to a debate with Krishnan Ranganathan on whether ego and self-esteem are very different from each other at all. To me, its the same difference as between confidence and over confidence or between chivalry and chauvinism - a thin line, that can be crossed easily if you're not careful. However, it does not mean (to me) that you should not cultivate confidence or chivalry (I know I might get flamed for this one). Really interested in knowing what you think, especially my friends in the social sector. Please do DM me if you don't want to comment publicly :)

Our perception drives our reality. That is the only way the brain can function, assessing situations through its own filters. Which is why 2 individuals can have a widely different experience of the same situation. The more in control you are of these filters & the more you have released the limiting beliefs, emotional wounds and automatic answers, the more you can shape the world you are living it. Versus applying others values, beliefs and limitations to your own experience. It is a full holistic experience and a never-ending endeavor but this is the only way to live as a truly independent and critical being. Free from the burdens of "what should be" you collected since you were born. So instead of listening to the internal voices of your parents, teachers, religious leaders, friends, it is your own internal authentic voice that is guiding you. Check out https://lnkd.in/g6NEPenu and the Brain Power Microdose https://lnkd.in/gctjihkr to learn how to free yourself and start getting MORE from life. #themicrodosediet #success #limitingbeliefs #freedom
