🚀 Exciting Developments at e-Origin: The EBSI Pilot Project! 🚀   We are thrilled to announce that e-Origin is currently running a pilot phase with the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI), exploring innovative solutions to enhance cross-border e-commerce customs clearance. 🌍📦   This pilot project aims to leverage blockchain technology to secure and protect IOSS transactions, providing a transparent, automated, and digital proof of value that can help customs brokers in the first or second control line with customs authorities.   However, we understand that innovation can sometimes be intimidating, especially with buzzwords like "blockchain". 💡 Rest assured, this project does not change the current customs clearance process but seeks to support and strengthen it.   Our goal is to simplify and automate key processes to ensure greater compliance while reducing liability for customs brokers. Customs authorities worldwide are undergoing a digital transformation to modernize and streamline their processes. Notable advancements over the past year include: DaziT, an initiative by Swiss Customs to fully digitalize and automate processes, centralizing operations on a unified platform with a targeted completion date of 2026. The SMART Initiative, spearheaded by Japan’s Customs Authority, aims to establish an integrated and intelligent trade facilitation system. SMART, an acronym for "Secure, Market Access, Responsive, Technology-driven," leverages artificial intelligence, blockchain, and advanced scanning technologies to enhance speed and reliability in customs operations. STS (Single Touch System), implemented by Australia’s Department of Home Affairs, simplifies international trade by consolidating all customs-related information into a single platform. This system significantly reduces administrative burdens and accelerates regulatory compliance. In Latin America, innovative solutions like CADENA and b-Connect utilize blockchain technology within Mercosur to enable seamless information sharing among member countries, expediting customs procedures. Meanwhile, the European Union has proposed a comprehensive customs reform projected to save billions of euros annually by enhancing efficiency and reducing delays. Singapore, on the other hand, continues to set a benchmark with its NTP platform, integrating government and commercial services to streamline trade processes.
