What if I told you that I am going to be in an Amazon-themed theater play in the biggest circus tent in Berlin? Wait, what did you just read? Yes, Amazon’s coming to the stage… 🎭 This all happened when an award-winning theater director Daniel Wetzel of the Rimini Protokoll approached me in Berlin at one of the ScaleForEtail events I've done this year and asked me if I wanted to contribute to his play. I was so thrilled to have the opportunity to be included in such a play, and I immediately said yes! Daniel and his cast has put up a play called La Dance d’Amazon, a careful and in-depth exploration of the Amazon world, and how the community that surrounds it – sellers, logistics providers, customers, and service providers – has been changed immeasurably as a result. 🌍 The fascinating production focuses on consumerism and the effect that it has on our lives. 🛍️ Alongside with one of the thought leaders from the Amazon industry Sebastian "The Connector" Herz (贺思安)– and, get this – circus performers 🎪 , we are going to share the stage in front of the audience for 4 days! It’s a full-on theater play that has a very relevant theme… 🎟️ That will take place, and this is the best part: inside the biggest circus tent in Berlin. 🇩🇪 A circus production all about the circus of Amazon. Ahead of the 2024 Olympics Closing Ceremony this weekend, WXO Member Kile Ozier - Creative Venture Catalyst has a few tips for the organisers based on the Opening Ceremony... "So many free-standing good ideas, a surfeit of genius, unleashed to devour the City with no regard for audience, for message, for the experience. This scatter-bomb of unleashed vision will be referenced at every future Olympics…as a cautionary tale, one would hope." Of course, there was lots to love about the Ceremony too – some breathtaking performances, a whole lot of ambition in breaking free of the stadium format, and of course, Celine. But Ozier reckons one crucial element was missing above all: community. 1.5 million tickets sold in one day shows the power of metal icons in selling out shows faster and in greater numbers than anyone else: "AC/DC's European Tour Sold 1.5 Million Tickets In One Day" Unfortunately they're not coming to Asia but they are coming to Australia in 2025 as long as they can get through Europe first! ""It's staggering and it gives you great faith because they're very particular in how they conduct their business. They don't do VIP. They don't do dynamic ticket pricing. They never want to hear fans complaining about ticket prices being too high. "There's also a point where we have to push it a little bit because otherwise they couldn't afford to tour — especially when they're playing one day on, three days off. … Obviously the goal is to hopefully have them continue if they enjoy it and it works well … to try to keep them out in '25, '26, '27, however long they want to go, but we gotta get through Europe first."
