It's surprising that Carbon Monoxide Poisoning is still claiming many lives, and a large proportion of these incidents are preventable. How could you prevent and mitigate risk as an individual or company? It could be as simple as carrying or installing a CO detector costing as little as £20, with a lifespan of four to ten years. #CarbonMonoxide #CarbonMonoxidePoisoning #Risk #Prevent #SaferTourismFoundation
CO poisoning still claims lives. As many as 30,000 a year globally. And most of those deaths are preventable. This summer, Safer Tourism Foundation is honoured to be supporting the Foley family in their efforts to raise awareness about the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning with their #PackSafeAppeal. Hudson Foley passed away while travelling in Ecuador just one year ago - tragically, a £20 portable carbon monoxide alarm could have saved his life. Thank you Charity Today for reporting this important story. #travelnews #travelsafe #cosafety #gassafety

Managing Director at Lindleys Autocentres, Director at Garage Hive and Analyst at Garage Industry Trends
After the success of the previous Blend Hike, we wanted to make this event more frequent, so each year we plan to do 1 social/networking hike in the summer, and then a big charity hike after The Blend. The purpose of the networking hike is to meet other garage owners and people from the industry outside of your typical work environment, conference, expo etc. This year we will be joined by lots of the Garage Hive team from Latvia, so it's a great chance to meet them properly and if you're lucky Aigars will give you a piggyback. Everyone from the Garage Hive Community is invited, our customers, partners, and friends. With that said, I'm pleased to share the details of the next Blend Hike. Date - 2nd May 2024 Meeting Time - 09:30 Hike Start Time - 10:00 Estimated Time - 6-7 Hours* Estimated Finish Time - 16:00* Sun Rise - 05:30* Sun Set - 20:30* Distance - Estimated 22.5 km Difficulty - Proceed cautiously on this 22.5 km out-and-back trail. This route is generally considered a highly challenging route and should only be attempted by experienced adventurers. Those who know they are fit and capable should look to make it harder for themselves by weighing themselves down with at least 10kg and up to 18kg of water. If water is used you can always tip it out to reduce weight. This will not only make it more of a personal challenge but it will help to keep the group tighter together. This is an out-and-back route, there will be 3 checkpoints where you either can turn back or wait to be re-joined. Some people will be camping/staying in hotels so there may be some additional networking in the evening too You can learn more about the event here and sign up https://lnkd.in/eC6iEajj

"Tourist attraction loses $170k by going cashless" Powerful reminder of two things here: 1. the mode of payment impacts the psychology of paying 2. a sensible change on paper ≠ reality of human behaviour In this case, people clearly preferred throwing coins in the Roman Baths to swiping their credit card. Why? A couple of thoughts: - The credit card option obliterated social proof of seeing others donate. - Making a wish with a physical offering makes it more real. What are your thoughts? How could they have handled this differently? https://lnkd.in/gFhxt2DJ
