Hereford Cathedral hosts and offers another unique and exciting opportunity. The Cathedral holds an enamelled reliquary of St Thomas Becket, dated around 1200-1210, created in the decades after Becket’s martyrdom. It would originally have held a relic of the saint and would have been placed on the altar within Hereford Cathedral that was dedicated to Becket. The reliquary was lost during the Reformation, but returned to the Cathedral in the early 19th century. Hereford Cathedral will be displaying its reliquary in the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library Exhibition on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 November 2024. I was at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium last night for the Champions League match vs Inter. Whilst both Milanese clubs still face uncertainty over their San Siro home and whether it's feasible to redevelop the stadium or build new (including elsewhere in Milan), City continue to expand and grow. The expansion of the 'City Campus' is centred around the North Stand, will increase capacity to over 60,000, featuring a 3000-capacity fan zone, a 400-bed hotel, a new club shop and a museum. Above the upper tier of the expanded stand, there will be a sky bar and stadium roof walk that will give fans the opportunity to enjoy a unique view of the pitch and Manchester’s skyline. Anyone visiting for #Euro2028 will be in for a treat. #stadium #architecture #football #regeneration

A wonderful day to be out and about and getting more familiar with the area in which Wychavon District Council functions and serves. Today I was in Evesham for a number of meetings and site visits and had the opportunity to explore the town centre and wonderful Abbey Park which is located between the River Avon and town centre itself. The bell tower is an obvious point of focus and in today's autumn sun, very photogenic.
