The introduction of the Meggsius family into this farm meant that: 💪 Labour was reduced from 3 to 1 employee 🕜 25% less working time 😅 Easy to use and less stress “I was quite sceptical about the whole system at the beginning...but I must say that I am now very enthusiastic. You are much more of a process operator than an egg sorter. I’m convinced!” - Sonja van Haandel. https://bit.ly/48bKyHl Looking to automate your farm and processes? 👀 Speak to the team today and take advantage of our 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. #farmingfunding #farmgrants #farmingautomation

Per a recent JDS publication: "The average percentage of cows that left the herd in a year, a proxy of annual cow cull rate, was 38% among 9,158 primarily Holstein herds with greater than 50 cows each." Further consider that larger dairies are well over 40% with death rates in the 10% range. Back prior to 1960 the average replacement rate was around 20%. "Technology" advancement with the introduction of alternating pulsation intended to reduce mastitis coincides nicely with the continuous rise in replacement rates. How long will this mess continue before someone asks why replacement rates are not under 20% with modern technology? https://lnkd.in/giRg9_ZW

Time for a grain bin inspection? You should be having your bins professionally inspected every 12-24 months. This will help you identify small issues before they become BIG problems. #GrainBinInspection #FarmMaintenance #GrainStorage #CropManagement #FarmSafety #Agribusiness #FarmManagement #GrainStorageManagement #HarvestPreparation #FarmEconomics #AgTech #GrainHandling #CropCare #FarmersAdvice #CustomAgriSystems #OhioFarmers #MichiganFarmers #WisconsinFarming

With the Milkline feeding station, feeding your herd correctly and meeting the needs of each animal at all stages of production is super easy, and becomes the key to exploiting their full production potential. Because identifying means optimizing! With the Milkline feeding station you can provide the right amount of feed to your cows always, depending on the production stage. The prophylactic action against dysmetabolias such as acidosis and ketosis, is automatic and you reduce feed waste and work time devoted to feeding. All manageable with DataFlow™ II and Heatime® Pro, for a noticeable improvement in farm production efficiency.

Centralizing vacuum is an excellent way to save on energy and reduce expenses without sacrificing production. One of my favorite examples of this is our rotary claw vacuum system at a poultry plant shown below. #energyefficiency #costsavings #productionoptimization

🐮 Effective feed management starts with knowing exactly what's in your feed. With FeedCares, you can easily monitor the nutrients in your silage and TMR. Take control of your feed quality today! #agrocares #feedcares #nutrientintelligence #smartfarming
👍 We know it! Analysing your silage once or twice a year is not enough for an optimized daily ration formulation for your animals. Silage pits ideally should be sampled and analysed at least every month to use the results to adjust your formulation and to feed through the perfect ratio all the time. 🔍 FeedCares solution allows farmers to analyse raw material or silage composition straight on the farm in a fast and simple way, so that they can feed their animals with the best formulation. 👩🏼🌾👨🏻🌾 #agrocares #nutrientintelligence #feedcares #feedcaresscanner #feedcaresapp #datasolutions #smartfarming #smartagriculture

Will feed additives to lower methane from cattle be used? There is increased interest in the potential of feed additives to reduce enteric methane from cattle, but little context out there for cattle feeders in terms of the economic implications. The AgNext at Colorado State University Feed Additive Calculator Tool (FACT) for Beef is meant to better understand how additives can (or cannot) make sense, depending upon carbon prices, feed additive costs, and animal performance impacts. The user of the tool can define key inputs to explore a range of hypothetical scenarios. As shown in the chart below, carbon prices that a producer needs to receive to breakeven vary depending upon the feed additive cost. Today, voluntary carbon prices are only ~$3 per metric ton. Please check out this article on why we need to make sure feed additives make economic sense: https://lnkd.in/gv6xx5Nc and the tool itself: https://lnkd.in/gN5k4iC4 Very happy to get this tool out there with the help of Anna Naranjo #sustainability #climatechange #methane
