The hemp industry in Florida is estimated to be a $10B dollar industry today. Currently there is a bill on DeSantis desk that if signed would kill the hemp industry, businesses and those who run them in Florida. Which would take business away from Mom & Pop owners and turn over the Florida market to the big corporate players like Trulieve and others. I'm not sure how this will shake out however it does seem clear there will be winners and losers depending on how this bill is handled. Some have commented that these two industries, focused on the same plant, should stop fighting each other and rather consolidate. I'm in favor of that however, how we get that done and if it will get done is a crystal ball question.

Super interesting video about Florida hemp ban. So what I am making out of this bill is it was written by truelieve and handed to this representative to introduced and ban everything hemp derived. Thoughts? Who is this good for?

For an insightful analysis of the Miller Amendment, listen to Courtney N. Moran, LL.M. 's interview on Landcaster's podcast. There's a lot of misleading chatter on social media that veers attention away from the real issues surrounding the Amendment. The proposed legislation falls short in terms of standards and safety, which is quite disappointing. The repetitive "What about the children?" argument is getting old. What about public and consumer safety? What about clear and comprehensive definitions? We need a solution-oriented framework, not one that creates problems. Politicians need better PR spin doctors because Miller completely missed the mark on this. As Justin mentioned in the podcast, if it were truly about the children, they would have addressed age limitations in the cannabinoid hemp market, as many had suggested. The primary concern has always been the quality, labeling, and safety of the extraction process and allowable content. Regardless of whether you're in a licensed or unregulated market, it remains a problem. Contrary to many claims, this Amendment does not impact hemp fiber and grain. Spreading fear-mongering tactics doesn't help bring the industry together; it only perpetuates false narratives from the cannabinoid hemp space, which is frustrating. There are several critical aspects missing from the amendment that we should be worried about, as Courtney points out. I still support hemp, but I'd appreciate some honesty in our efforts to address the government's shortcomings.
Curious about the Miller Amendment, I interviewed Midwest Hemp Council president and cannabis attorney Justin Swanson and Courtney N. Moran, LL.M. from AGRICULTURAL HEMP SOLUTIONS, LLC to find out what the deal is. Listen on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/egf3qvSy Also on this episode, Morris Beegle tells me about his work with EIHA - European Industrial Hemp Association and what he's looking forward to in Prague next week. Give a listen, leave a comment, share with your friends. Thanks!

HB5150 killing our farmers and businesses. Break the law with me dunk a hemp bud in you favorite liquid!! Let's be as ridiculous as our corrupt politicians like D'Agastino.. Quick explanation of a hemp bud being added to water or a drink.. so 1 gram of hemp at .29% thc can contain 2.9 milligrams of thc. Once the flower that I had at 1.5 grams was in any vessel it would be 4.5 milligrams and to much thc for that jar or cup. This is based on pre-serving or total THC in a container.

This week you heard how Michiganders bought more "units" of weed than Californians. Given California has nearly 40 million people to Michigan's 10 million, what gives? Are Michiganders more stoned than Californians? LOL. California sober is a thing. Instead, it's about tax regimes and regulatory structure. Michigan has a better system.
