Today is World Obesity Day The 2024 theme for World Obesity Day is “Let's Talk About Obesity. The theme was selected to encourage people to start conversations that address obesity. ACURIO's hospital - The George Centre is now hosting regular weight loss surgery seminars which are being conducted by two of the hospital's highly respected Bariatric Weight Loss Surgeons - Dr Ali Zarrouk and Dr Rachael Kirby. The first seminar is scheduled to be held in March with regular seminar dates planned thereafter. While endoscopic bariatric procedures, particularly intragastric balloons, have shown significant benefits beyond weight loss, further research is necessary to understand these effects and their applicability to other procedures.
