It is obvious that it has a high cost, that perhaps not everyone can access them yet, that there is not yet a huge catalogue of apps to do a multitude of things with them.
But there is no doubt that if Apple is taking the plunge, it is because there is a market ready to consume. It is because the Spatial generation has arrived to coexist with the AI generation. And that any company that does not want to be left behind will need to start thinking in three-dimensional and spatial terms as soon as possible.
At Onirix we have spent years developing our concept of Spatial AR, now taken to Spatial Web AR (whose beta you can test since the end of January, by the way! link here to request access --> https://lnkd.in/dR3qJmhV).
This is because we know that the two-dimensional world, at least on the web, is evolving towards this new paradigm.
Are you ready?

Sometimes, it takes time to see what you can't initially see. When the Apple Persona VR solution was announced, my question was, beyond the cool factor, who is the "persona" or customer for a $3,500 solution? Often, we see Apple as a B2C firm with the iPhone, Mac computer, and Apple watch products.
However, a couple of weeks ago, I visited a family member in the hospital. One of the things that caught my attention was how embedded the iPhone is in the nurses' daily tasks, from tracking medications tied to the patient's armband to recording vitals.
The brief glimpse I got of Apple's medical B2B ecosystem, makes me believe the first place the Persona will roll out is with existing ecosystem partners in the B2B market. Apple's $25B (WSJ) B2B enterprise market will help them iron out the use cases for the Persona first before it rolls into the B2B consumer space. Looking forward to seeing which segments move on this first.
👀 ALL EYES ON VR PLEASE!
Apple's Vision Pro has just introduced Spatial Personas.
🔮 We know it’s not perfect but imagine what this could mean for marketing 5 years from now.
Brands would be able to subtly integrate their messaging into virtual conversations, making it feel more natural and less like traditional advertising.
Imagine chatting with your friend's avatar in Vision Pro. While discussing your favourite movies or games, it casually mentions a new product or brand. Without realizing it, you might find yourself interested in that product or brand simply because your friend's avatar mentioned it.
Will we start having avatar affiliate links? *Shudders in marketing*
💬 Do you think the future of Spatial Personas is bright?

Apple Vision Pro is in the hands of every influencer and news outlet right now - best review so far is by The Wall Street Journal journalist Joanna Stern. It's the best sense I have got so far of the use cases and experience 1st generation Apple Vision Pro, which is touted to be "spatial computing" in a headset. Far too expensive for consumers, launching in a difficult economic climate and still clunky in user experience it seems unless it is on a IOS app, but strides ahead of competitors (ahem, sorry AI at Meta).
I am linking below the clip showing the "Personas" feature, conceptually I think this is brilliant and excited to see how this will evolve in future models. I also think this device will work well in b2b settings for Demos and introductions to new drug molecules when education Clinicians (KOLs etc.)- Rumour has it a few Pharma clients are exploring it....

Lots of hype and reviews in recent weeks about the Apple Vision Pro. Here is another review where the reviewer had tried it for a week.

Instead of calling Apple Vision Pro a MR (AR + VR) headset, Apple called it Spatial Computing. AR and VR have been around for decades but have not caught on into the mainstream. The reasons may be that the hardware technology is not adequate yet and not enough useful applications. This first version of Apple Vision Pro suffers the same fate. Nevertheless, Apple has brought forward this futuristic technology nearer to practicality.
Imaging our world which can have multi-layers of realities or multiverse. How awesome and exciting will that be. It expands our finite world into an infinite possibility. It is just a matter of time when the hardware technology catches up and enough useful applications to get this MR into the mainstream adoption.
So far since Steve Jobs had retaken to lead Apple and now Tim Cook, Apple has not been unsuccessful in any major product category. Even with the Apple Watch which has its fair share of doubt for this product initially, it is pretty popular now and Apple has reignited the smart watch trend. Therefore, I believe Apple will reignite the AR, VR and/or Metaverse trend moving forward.
So, what do you think about Apple Vision Pro? Will this product be successful or a failure for a major product category in Apple?
In 1983, Apple introduced us to personal computing with the first Mac
In 2007, they brought mobile computing to the game with the first iPhone
In 2023, they brought ‘spatial computing’ to the mix with the Apple Vision Pro.
And just a couple of weeks ago, it came out in stores.
People have been wearing it all over in public, and it's quite interesting to watch them interact with it.
From scrolling your feed on Twitter to catching up on emails, all while chilling at a cafe with your favorite latte, we’ve been seeing many amazing things on some of these viral youtube/IG videos.
What makes Apple’s device different is that it’s not the Metaverse. You’re not entering a different virtual world.
You’re in the same one, but you’ve added another layer of tech to make your life more convenient.
So, how exactly is this possible?
Let’s break down Spatial Computing first:
It’s all about understanding and utilizing space, it's computing that happens in the space of human experiences.
This space includes every point in your surrounding environment, including you, that can be digitally manipulated.
1. Apple Vision Pro's Role:
It implements spatial computing by using the digital twins of the real world.
It creates a digital representation of the user's environment and integrates that with the user's interactions.
Meaning you can virtually interact with your environment as if the digital objects were physical.
That’s why you can scroll without touching a screen (comes in handy when you’ve got cheesy hands, haha!)
2. Advanced Tracking and Interaction:
It uses a series of techniques like hand tracking, eye tracking, and depth sensing to understand:
- where the user is
- where they're looking and
- what they're interacting with.
It even recognizes gestures made with fingers, so you can pick, move, and throw virtual objects.
4. Spatial Audio:
It also uses spatial audio for an immersive audio experience – sounds aren’t just playing in stereo in your ears,
but appear to come from specific locations in the space around you.
So, if a virtual bird is singing behind you in the system, it sounds like it's actually behind you.
5. Realistic Visuals:
Apple Vision Pro uses a high-powered graphics processor (GPU) and advanced rendering techniques to display digital images that look incredibly realistic.
These high-quality visuals are what makes it all so real and immersive.
It doesn’t just end at ordering coffee or playing games, the applications can be:
- virtual tours
- real immersive learning
- fast diagnosis for patients
The possibilities are endless once you come to think of it.
P.S: What do you think, will this become the new normal?
Also, here’s a video of it in action, video credits - GregsGadgets

OK, so this is the best tester video on the subject of the new hardware Apple has just put out, as well as the idea of spatial computing it’s literally exactly what I think will be the most interesting part of this new stage of social communication, etc. What I thought would happen is probably going to happen this year, which is video as it’s produced for advertising, and marketing will really change in terms of montage, and in terms of how we communicate advertisement, and in this explanation, he gives a great overview of what is the magic which is not necessarily the hardware which is still bulky, but the experience of seeing UX in a new way, so I’m kind of excited. #appleprovision#spatialcomputing#spatialdesign
I just tested the Apple Vision Pro (thanks Ivan Puzyrev from W3rlds)
Let me give you my honest feedback:
PROs:
💻 Great innovation that gives us a taste of what spatial computing will be
🔥 Amazing to make a demo and have a WAW effect if you work in innovation
👓 The device is easy to wear and calibrates well (at least for me)
CONs:
🤑 The price! Starting from 3,500$, it feels too expensive for what I tested
🔋 The battery that goes in the pocket (hey Joanne Marie Bassoul that did not have a pocket)
Should you get one? If you are a company and are going to use it for demos, you should buy one as we will see more and more applications and this is a device that will evolve in the coming years!
Ps: Always nice to merge innovation to my passion for watches (Cartier , ArabWatchGuide)
