Talk about long term planning!!  We do big things that take lots of time to do safely. Eventually we will spend close to $5 billion usd to develop this massive energy resource. The petroleum rights for block 292 were acquired by BP in a federal lease sale in August 2003.  The Kaskida field was discovered in 2006 in a water depth of 5,860 feet (1,790 m) and a total depth of approximately 32,500 feet (9,900 m). Drilling in block 291, located 5 miles (8.0 km) to the west from block 292, started in 2008 and oil was found in November 2009. We drilled the appraisal wells 2011 with the West Sirius Rig to 34,149m in 6,034ft deep water. Kaskida is among the largest Paleogene lower tertiary discoveries, with more than three billion barrels of oil equivalent (boe) in place. The project covers 51,800 acres, including nine blocks in the Keathley Canyon deepwater Lower Tertiary refers to deepwater drilling in the depths of more than 15,000ft in the Gulf of Mexico. The formations date back to between 23 million years and 65 million years. Discoveries in the Lower Tertiary began in 2001 and 2002 in Alaminos Canyon and Walker Ridge, followed by Keathley Canyon. The 12 prospects discovered in the area are Trident, Great White, Cascade, Chinook, St Malo, Tobago, Silvertip, Tiger, Jack, Stones, Gotcha and Kaskida. Chevron operates six, BHP and BP operate two each and Shell and Total operate one each. #bp #energy #oilandgas

PROJECTS WORLDWIDE 🌍 📍Paestum, Scigliati plant 👉The initial request concerned the expansion and modernisation of the existing water network infrastructure and the optimisation of distribution systems. The Paestum Land Reclamation Consortium is actively engaged in protecting, managing and preserving water, a fundamental resource for the life and development of the entire community. The partnership between the Consortium and Caprari, for the implementation of the work at the Scigliati plant, proved crucial in several areas, including the design and implementation of reliable, high-performance solutions. 📌Caprari contributed to the project by providing: - 5 customised vertical lineshaft units delivering 700 l/sec with a pressure of 100m. The vertical units are equipped with 850kW, 6-pole motors are then regulated in inverter operation, thereby ensuring continuity of operation and energy savings. ➡️In this way we were able to increase the plant’s flow rate by more than 50%. Thanks to these actions, we have improved the water availability for Scigliati and the surrounding areas.
