#GenAI offers a transformative opportunity for women leaders to rapidly adopt the technology to reshape business for productivity and leverage new opportunities. Globally, women leaders are actively engaging with this technology. However, studies indicate that in #India, the adoption has been more gradual. This trend is particularly evident at senior levels, where some female leaders appear to be cautious in experimenting with AI. As AI takes a central role in shaping the future of work, companies are likely to move beyond generic tools like #ChatGPT, #Copilot and #Bard to develop proprietary solutions. Women leaders must engage with GenAI to effectively influence the development of these tools. Only then can we expand the diversity and inclusion horizons of our business and society. Boston Consulting Group (BCG)’s latest research, published in partnership with nasscom, lays out strategies organizations can employ to close the GenAI knowledge gap for #WomenInTech. Pioneering Women in GenAI 🚀 The GenAI Revolution: The tech industry is rapidly evolving with Generative AI (GenAI), and it’s estimated that 46% of workers will need reskilling in the next three years. Women leaders in tech are at the forefront, shaping the future of GenAI. Despite historical trends, women in tech are adopting GenAI at rates comparable to their male peers. Senior women in technical roles are even leading the charge, using GenAI tools more frequently than men. The article Women Leaders in Tech Are Paving the Way in GenAI highlights the importance of awareness, confidence in GenAI skills, and risk tolerance as key factors influencing GenAI adoption. It suggests companies must support women professionals in addressing these areas and promote gender equity in tech (like my company, Encora, does). Companies must implement targeted upskilling programs, robust pilot designs, and clear AI policies. The report suggests that women can also take proactive steps by engaging with GenAI and seeking leadership roles. Let’s embrace this opportunity to drive change and empower women in technology! https://lnkd.in/eC9VbXdD #WomenInTech #GenAI #Innovation #Leadership #Weareencora

Gender and seniority differences in Gen AI adoption in Tech sector. Interesting study from BCG. Summary here: A global survey finds that senior women in technical functions are ahead of their men peers in adopting GenAI—but junior women are lagging behind. Three key attributes correlate with gender disparities in GenAI adoption: awareness of GenAI’s criticality to job success, confidence in GenAI skills, and risk tolerance for using GenAI prior to having a company policy. If the number of senior and junior women with GenAI skills increases, then it’s likely that women’s representation in tech leadership will grow. Companies that are ready to pilot and scale GenAI should address the gaps in attributes via leadership advocacy and change management, highly targeted upskilling programs, and robust pilot design.

Women Leaders in Tech Are Paving the Way in GenAI An interesting article by Maria Barisano, Neveen Awad, Adriana Dahik, Julie Bedard, Uche Monu, Gunjan Mundhra and Katherine Lou “A global survey finds that senior women in technical functions are ahead of their men peers in adopting GenAI—but junior women are lagging behind. • Three key attributes correlate with gender disparities in #GenAI adoption: awareness of GenAI’s criticality to #job success, confidence in GenAI #skills, and risk tolerance for using GenAI prior to having a company policy. • If the number of senior and junior #women with GenAI skills increases, then it’s likely that women’s representation in tech leadership will grow. • Companies that are ready to pilot and scale GenAI should address the gaps in attributes via leadership advocacy and change management, highly targeted upskilling programs, and robust pilot design. Generative AI (GenAI) is proliferating rapidly, and C-suite executives across industries expect that, on average, 46% of workers will need to be reskilled in the next three years as a result. In the technology industry specifically, our new BCG survey shows that 55% of workers across various roles think that GenAI will be critical to their job success. Women have historically been less likely to adopt new technologies than men have, especially in the early days. For instance, a 2020 YouGov report found that less than 40% of early tech adopters among consumers were women. If the adoption of GenAI follows a similar trend, there is a risk that the gender gap in the tech industry will widen further, as fewer than 30% of middle managers and senior leaders in tech today are women. Now more than ever, companies need to be hyperfocused on proactive measures that minimize and ultimately reduce this gap. To determine if there are gender differences in adopting GenAI and if so, the root causes and the paths to a resolution, Boston Consulting Group (BCG) conducted a global survey of more than 6,500 women and men employees in tech companies across seniority levels and functions. In addition, 15 women leaders in the tech industry provided their insights and views on a pathway forward.” #flpnews Follow me: https://lnkd.in/dgUYdM5s.

#DidYouKnow Indian men and women surpass global peers in Gen AI adoption? Historically, women’s representation in tech has been relatively low, and one of the key factors contributing to this gap is the fact that in the past, women have adopted new technologies at lower rates than men. But this is not true in the case of AI and Gen AI. Women across all career stages are leading the charge in embracing AI and Gen AI. The recently released nasscom - Boston Consulting Group (BCG) report "Gen AI: The Diversity Game Changer We Can’t Ignore" brings out interesting comparisons between tech employees in India and those in rest of the world when it comes to the adoption of AI and Gen AI.
