Science support is extremely important! I was surprised reading that scientists from the Carlsberg Research Laboratory have developed a method called FIND-IT for creating a diverse array of yeast strains for brewing without the use of GMOs. This could be referred to as a process of guided but natural evolution!

My view is that private businesses, like Carlsberg with its Research Lab, play a crucial role in scientific advancements, such as improving brewing processes and sustainability. However, there’s concern over the declining focus on science in corporate R&D. Companies have historically driven major breakthroughs, but it's essential to maintain a strong focus on science to ensure continued progress. Innovations in areas like beer production and environmental impact demonstrate the potential of business-driven science for both industry and society
