📋 Once you've made a list of colleges you're interested in, the next step is to narrow it down to the ones you'll actually apply to 🎯. Most counselors suggest applying to 10 to 12 colleges — applying to more than that can be overwhelming 😅. You don't have to go through this alone 🤗. Your parents 👨👩👧, college counselor 🧑🏫, and teachers 🧑🏫 can help you figure out what you want in a college and choose which schools to apply to 🏫. Remember, there's more than one school that's right for you 🌟. Right now, you're just narrowing down your options to the best possibilities. After this step, you'll be able to choose from the colleges that offer you a spot in their freshman class 🏅. #collegeadmissions #collegeapplication #collegeprep #collegelist #admissionsconsultant #icanhelp

#TeachersMatters Teaching the next generation has never been an easy career, but the past two years have tested the education community like nothing else in our lifetime. Unfortunately, the worst may be yet to come, as the challenges to effective education just keep piling up. “This is a great profession, and educators love what they do, but if we don’t start to treat them better widespread teacher shortages are likely,” says Dr. Lynn Gangone, president of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. What many people don’t realize is that teaching is just one role teachers fill in the course of a normal day. It’s not just academics that they worry about or can only focus on. Kids spend hours with their teachers every day, and (as any parent can attest) they need much more than just academic instruction. “Demands are placed on teachers to help students solve problems with peers that occur in the classroom and at recess,”. Instead of asking why educators chose their profession, we should ask why they stay. And the answer is simple. “They stay, because it is the place they believe they can make the biggest difference,”. #thoughts

Teacher Mentoring, TeacherGoals, ,Teachers Recruiter, Teacher Retirement System of Texas, 🤔 #BecomingATeacher isn’t an aspiring career anymore (it seems), and I wonder if there is anything that could be done (or is being done) to improve this decline. #SchoolTeachers are expected to… 1) Teach multiple #AcademicSubjects 2) Guide children through #Prepubescent and/or #Puberty 3) #Discipline 20+ students for 10 (give or take) hours a day if not an hourly (#SchoolPeriod) requirement 4) Deter #SexualAdvanced from students who may or may not be fully developed. 5) Be sure that the students know that they can “be real” with us if they need to talk ( #Counselor) while ensuring that they know that you are the #AuthorityFigure. I didn’t pursue the field anymore after I had classroom #FieldExperience during the certification process. Thank you, Texas Teachers and Teachers of Tomorrow for helping to wean me out of the suitable teacher pool, because as AMAZING of a person that I am, I can only take but so many 14 year old “#MatureAdults” disrespecting me while I HELP them join the #AmazingPeopleSquad. 💁♀️ I’ve got a life too!

Higher Education Awareness One of the first steps to increase higher education access for underrepresented groups is to raise their awareness and aspirations about the benefits and possibilities of higher education. Outreach and awareness programs can take various forms, such as mentoring, tutoring, college visits, summer camps, workshops, and online platforms, that expose students to different academic and career options, provide information and guidance on admission and financial aid processes, and foster a sense of belonging and confidence in their potential. Outreach and awareness programs can target students at different stages of their educational journey, from elementary school to high school, and involve various stakeholders, such as teachers, counselors, parents, peers, and role models. https://auv.edu.vn #auv #auvvietnam #auvscholarship #auvadmission

Since 1999, Cal Coast Academy has been dedicated to helping students struggling from mild learning, social, and cognitive disabilities such as Asperger syndrome, dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, autism, anxiety, and depression. However, we do not limit our student population to just those with challenges, we also welcome International students from third world countries, military-connected children, students who have been negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and social media influences, and students who have not succeeded in other private and public schools because their teachers couldn’t adequately individualize their learning experience due to the large class sizes. The faculty at Cal Coast Academy are collectively devoted to delivering customized learning that meets the individualistic and holistic needs of every student. They sway away from the lecture-directed, textbook-driven, antiquated approach to learning. Instead, they allow students the opportunity to stimulate one another’s powers of thought through co-active learning. By removing the traditional “one-size-fits-all” approach to education, Cal Cost Academy is essentially bridging the gap between can’t and can and breaking through barriers that prevent students from reaching their true potential.

Feeling Burnt Out in Mainstream Teaching? Let’s Talk About SEN. Let’s be honest—teaching in mainstream schools can be exhausting. If you’ve found yourself losing that spark, feeling like each day is just going through the motions, maybe it’s time for a change. Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools offer a fresh start and can reignite your passion for teaching in ways you might not expect. With smaller class sizes and more one-on-one time with students, every day feels more personal and purpose-driven. The challenges are different, but so are the rewards. Watching students overcome obstacles, no matter how small, is truly inspiring—and it makes your work feel meaningful again. If you’re ready to rediscover why you became a teacher in the first place, SEN could be the perfect new path for you. 💡 At Dunbar Education, we’re here to help you transition into SEN, and we’ve got live roles across London for qualified teachers looking for that change. Let’s help you find the passion for teaching again. Reach out today. #SEN #EducationJobs #TeacherBurnout #RediscoverTeaching #TeachingJobsLondon #QTS #CareerChange #DunbarEducation

Maybe you have heard that some of your #classmates are hiring #private #college counselors, and you were wondering what the benefits are when most #highschools have an in-house #counselor. Here are a few things you get from a private college counselor that high schools can’t provide. https://ow.ly/t4qK50S1wHv

For those who work in Primary Education, this upcoming academic year will be my first time. I'm excited but nervous. What was your first time teaching in an Elementary school like? What challenges does this experience bring? What do you love about this job? What advice would you give to someone just beginning this journey? Your thoughts are much appreciated! 😊 #education #earlychildhoodeducation #primaryschool #firsttime #advice

Helping students and families control the college admissions process, instead of being controlled by it.
🔎 A valuable article for Jewish high school students, especially seniors, and their parents on ways to pick a college during these challenging times by Hillel International CEO Adam Lehman. https://lnkd.in/ephkwRmK Mr. Lehman highlights three pieces of advice so these families can get more accurate information to make appropriate decisions. 1️⃣ Avoid labeling schools as "good for" or "bad for" Jewish students. Instead, they should research the number/percentage of students, as well as the available religious & cultural resources, offerings and experiences inside & outside the classroom. 2️⃣ Avoid judging a college administration simply by the number of reported antisemitic incidents on its campus. Students should focus more on how the university has responded to address the issues. 3️⃣ Avoid a "one-size-fits-all" approach when evaluating a school. Families should focus on the best fit for their student, based on the student's particular needs, interests, and ways of engaging in the world. - 👨🎓 I help students & families control the college process, instead of being controlled by it. 🤙📲 Please visit my website and schedule a free consultation to learn more. #collegeadmissions #collegeapplications #collegesearch #collegecounseling #classof2024 #classof2025 #classof2026 #classof2027 #classof2028 #judaism #diversityequityinclusionandbelonging #studentsupport #studentsuccess #planahead #organized #attentiontodetail #studentsafety #inclusion #inclusionmatters #askanexpert #askquestions #belonging #belongingmatters #community #communitymatters https://lnkd.in/eXi_h7nM

Some MAJOR highlights from Texas's recently published "A Ready Texas" Report. This report highlighted the gaps in college & career readiness that are plaguing Texas school districts. Here are some direct quotes that I need to share: "The number of Texas school counselors and whether they have time to meet students one-on-one depends on each school’s finances and priorities." 😵 "Hiring more counselors is not enough to help students – additional resources and positions are required to assist counselors to meet all student needs." 👫 "Those who enter the school counseling profession often are not from the same demographic backgrounds of the students they serve." 👩🏫 "Counselors saw the potential for increased college preparedness [for underrepresented students] if the school district had more resources that could be used to create the time to help students and families learn more about college opportunities" 👨👩👧👧 People often ask me why we are building College Contact. This. This is why. #counselorgap #texasschools #readytexas #ccmr #texasccmr #increasingequity #collegereadiness #guidancecounselor #schoolcounselors #texascounselors #texasguidancecounselors
