Updates on the EU-Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), as the European Commission proposes a 12-month delay, as well as publishing additional guidance and a stronger international cooperation engagement framework - to support global stakeholders, EU Member States and other countries preparing to implement the EUDR. If the additional 12-month phasing-in period is approved by the European Parliament and the Council, the law would now be applicable on 30 December 2025 for large companies, and 30 June 2026 for micro- and small enterprises, to help ensure proper and effective implementation. We recommend to take this the extra time to consider long-term solutions for future associated ESG requirements instead of a short-term solution #EUdeforestation #GreenDeal #ESG #sustainablesupplychains #EU #centralamericaexports #LATAMexports

📝 European Commission takes action against 17 member states over #CSRD delays. The European Commission has taken formal action against 17 EU member states for failing to fully implement the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) by the July 2024 deadline. In letters sent to countries including #Germany, #Spain, #Belgium and #Poland, the Commission opened infringement procedures, signalling its desire to get this initiative implemented. 📒 Eu commission report that even with these delays at the national level, companies should not wait. Those impacted by the CSRD would be well advised to start laying the groundwork for compliance now. It's essential for EU companies affected by the CSRD to start building digital-first processes for standardized #esg reporting. #eu #reporting #europe #sustainability #climatechange link: https://lnkd.in/eupcRYxt

The Swiss government has launched a consultation to expand sustainability reporting requirements for companies, mirroring the EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This move could increase the number of Swiss companies needing to report from 300 to 3,500, covering environmental, human rights, and corruption risks. The government is also exploring ways to support businesses in implementing these new rules. #SustainabilityReporting #CorporateGovernance #SustainableBusiness #CSRD #BusinessEthics #ecoPRISM

Regulatory scrutiny is increasing when it comes to ESG, with Europe leading the way. The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is one such piece of legislation. Requiring companies to develop and report on actions to monitor, mitigate and improve on environmental and social aspects in their supply chain, the EUDR includes stricter traceability and due diligence requirements for commodities, including wood🪵 With the EUDR implementation deadline of December 2025, we unpick the challenges and opportunities for companies navigating the new legislation.
