💚 May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚 I'm proud to be running the 2024 TCS NYC Marathon with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) - NYC chapter. NAMI-NYC provides free support, education, and advocacy to families and individuals affected by mental illness. As some of you know, my family has faced unimaginable challenges navigating mental illness, especially during the years leading up to my brother Tom's tragic passing in 2017. In many ways, it felt like the system failed us, as adequate support and resources were difficult to access. These experiences have inspired me to run my first marathon with NAMI-NYC. Their services would have been invaluable during those difficult times. Join me in this journey by donating to my fundraiser (https://lnkd.in/eQuCWAKf). Every step I take in training and every dollar raised for NAMI-NYC helps ensure that no family has to navigate mental illness alone. Let's run towards a future where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical health. Together, we can create a more inclusive and accessible world for those struggling with or impacted by mental illness 💚 #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #NAMINYC #NYCMarathon 1 in 5 individuals in the United States lives with a mental illness. The other four are family, friends, colleagues, neighbors. We all deserve culturally responsive, accessible health and mental health care — and NAMI-NYC has been at the forefront of that fight for over 40 years. It is Mental Health Awareness Week. The theme this year is 'Movement: Moving more for our mental health'. Since 2001, the Mental Health Foundation has been leading Mental Health Awareness Week - bringing together the UK to focus on getting good mental health. Each May, millions of people from every part of society take part. They include people in schools and further education; private, public and charity sectors; families and individuals. Despite the benefits of moving, so many of us struggle to move enough. We know there are many different reasons for this, so this Mental Health Awareness Week we want to encourage people to find moments for movement in their daily routines. If you would like to donate, however big or small. This will help achieve good mental health for all: https://lnkd.in/esi-GXEG #WeAreTempest #Donation #MentalHealthWeek #GetInvolved #MentalHealth #Tips

🌟 Join Me in the Pushup Challenge for Mental Health 🌟 This June, I'm participating in the Pushup Challenge for Mental Health. Mental health is becoming more and more prevalent in today's society, and we still have much work to do in raising awareness. Having seen the ups and downs of those close to me, it can be a real challenge to manage ones mental health and also for those that are close to the situation. I encourage you to ask someone this week how they REALLY are. If you’re struggling or simply not feeling quite yourself, please reach out and talk to someone. It's okay not to be okay, and discussing the way we feel and our challenges can help us all manage our mental health better. Join my team and help us reach our goal of completing 1625 pushups by June 28, 2024. https://lnkd.in/gPB7uRzp You can also make a tax-deductible donation to Push for More, one of the charities involved in this fundraiser. https://lnkd.in/gaiiPPTW Together, we can make a difference. 💪 #MentalHealthAwareness #PushupChallenge #SupportMentalHealth #Wellness #JoinMe #PushForMore #MentalHealthMatters #LetsTalk #Teamwork

September is Suicide Prevention Month. In 2023, a record number of people in the United States died of suicide, nearly 50,000, according to federal data at the CDC. This is 50,000 too many, struggling with mental illness and not feeling that hope is an option. Join me and Team NoStigmas as we do our part to reduce this statistic. NoStigmas' mission is to ensure that no one faces mental health challenges alone. We envision a world without shame or discrimination related to mental health, brain disease, behavioral disorders, trauma, suicide and addiction with universal access to mental health education, support, and resources. I am running the Chicago Marathon in 36 days (YIKES) as a member of Team NoStigmas. We are raising money to support this great organization and provide support to those struggling that HOPE is not only an option, but a reality. If you feel inclined to donate, please do. Any amount, no matter how small, helps reduce this devastating statistic. #nostigmas #suicideprevention #mentalhealth #hope #recovery #life https://lnkd.in/eKA2Vg4x

42.9% of Australians have experienced mental health issues in their life (ABS, 2022). 1 in 5 Australians have experienced mental health issues in the last 12mths (this almost doubles for young people aged 16-24) (ABS, 2022). Mental health has impacted me personally and many of those close to me. To show my support I’m completing 3,249 push-ups this month as part of The Push-Up Challenge to push for better mental health in Australia. This number represents the 3,249 people who died by suicide in Australia in 2022 (the most recent available data). I'm taking on the Challenge because I want to do something about this number, and I'm hoping you can help by donating to my fundraising page: https://lnkd.in/gYXmPU7a Funds raised will go to headspace National to support much-needed mental health services and initiatives in Australia. Any donation, big or small, is really appreciated! #SupportHeadspace #MentalHealthMatters #DonateForMentalHealth #YouthMentalHealth #BreakTheStigma #InvestInMentalHealth #HeadspaceHeroes #MentalWellbeing #MindfulGiving #MentalHealthAwareness

Standing out from your competition is not just an option; it's a necessity. We specialise in creating success stories for businesses like yours, ensuring you rise above the rest.
Step up to the challenge: Can you conquer 100 miles in a single month? In today's world of convenient transportation, from cars to bikes, the allure of walking can sometimes wane. But this month, I'm setting my sights on a bold goal: to walk 100 miles, in sync with the "Walk 100 Miles of March" campaign. Why? It's all part of gearing up for our latest adventure: raising both funds and awareness for a local charity that's close to our hearts. Meet No5 Young People since 1971, they've been the beacon of support for young people grappling with mental health challenges in the RG postcode area. Their offerings are truly remarkable: from free counselling sessions to innovative mental health programs in schools and beyond. In 2023 alone, they provided over 8,600 counselling sessions, a testament to the critical need for their services, especially in these trying times. One of our own, Scott, bravely battles his own mental health struggles and is joining us on this journey, sharing his experiences along the way. Because let's face it, mental health affects us all in some way or another – whether it's a passing storm or a lifelong battle. So, join us as we lace up our shoes and hit the pavement this month, leading up to our epic trek up the three peaks of Yorkshire in July. And if you feel inclined to support our cause, stay tuned for the donation link I'll be sharing soon. Remember, walking isn't just about getting fit – it's a powerful tool for keeping mental wellness too. So, let's stride forward, one step at a time, ready to tackle whatever challenges life throws our way. Walk on, friends! Are you someone who relishes the rhythm of each step, exploring new places on foot or venturing into the breath-taking countryside that surrounds us? Could you rise to the challenge of strolling 100 miles in just one month? #lomar24 #mentalhealth #walking
