𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠: 𝐀 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 Have you ever noticed how you shop on autopilot at your regular supermarket? Here's a trick that worked wonders for me and my mom: 𝐓𝐫𝐲 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞. We used to shop monthly at large marts like DMart,and we'd always end up with unnecessary, attractively packaged foods—strategically placed at eye level—and sugary sodas. Our bills were high, and our pantry was full of junk. So, we switched to an old-school technique: 1) 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭. 2) 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞. 3) 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝. After 5-6 months, our bills dropped, and our list got shorter. We unknowingly started eating less packaged food and more home-cooked, fresh meals. Now, we do spend extra money, but it's mostly on good stuff. And if we wish to have biscuits, rusks, or any packaged food, we buy it when we need it, instead of buying in bulk and storing it.
