The energy at the Foundry Direct Connect event was electric, and Pat's announcement of Intel Foundry sent shivers down my spine. This isn't just another product launch, it's a paradigm shift for our company. For years, we've seen whispers of doubt, comparisons to competitors, and questions about our future. But today, that all changed. We just declared our intention to not only compete, but to lead the foundry game. 12 nodes, including the groundbreaking 18A? Moore's Law is alive and kicking, thanks to Intel! Sure, there's a long road ahead. But seeing industry giants like Microsoft and Arm on stage with Pat, the US government backing us with the CHIPS Act, and the sheer passion in everyone's eyes - it fills me with an optimism I haven't felt in years. This isn't just about job security or company pride. This is about shaping the future of technology. We're talking about chips that power AI revolutions, tackle global challenges, and push the boundaries of what's possible. And Intel Corporation, our Intel, is at the forefront of it all. Today, we introduced Intel Foundry, a world-class systems foundry made for the new era of computing. This new brand was built to help our customers succeed. It’s making process innovation, global manufacturing, ecosystem support, and engineering chops all available to our customers, integrated and optimized for their needs. And during Direct Connect, we brought out the best of the foundry and silicon ecosystem. We shared an update on Intel18A, which is expected to achieve high volume manufacturing readiness at the end of this year. We presented our foundry roadmap, which features a new node planned every two years and node evolutions along the way. And, we highlighted our customer’s excitement about our long-term systems foundry approach - Intel Foundry already has design wins across all silicon and assembly/test offerings! AI is creating an unprecedented opportunity for the world's most innovative chip designers. What we shared today is just a glimpse of what lies ahead for Intel Foundry. IFS Rebranded as Intel Foundry. Test & Packaging also gets bundled with Fabs under Intel Foundry umbrella. Hence, it's not just wafers, but complete chip production is offered to customers. And, its head on with TSMC & Samsung. Will be interesting to see whether Intel can overtake TSMC in 2nm production with better yield More importantly, need to wait and see, whether Intel Foundry will come out of the closed silo model of operation, which reduced interest from many customers in the recent past
