What I remember the most about 9/11... I remember how, for a brief moment in time, our differences faded into the background. People from all walks of life, regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs, came together to support one another. We were united by a shared sense of grief, shock, and a profound understanding of our interconnectedness as human beings. Firefighters, police officers, first responders, and ordinary citizens demonstrated extraordinary acts of heroism. We saw countless acts of kindness and compassion, from volunteering at Ground Zero to offering a helping hand to strangers. Our nation's resilience and spirit shone brightly. In the face of tragedy, we found strength in unity. It serves as a powerful reminder that, regardless of our differences, we can come together to support and uplift one another during the most challenging times. If only we could spend more time focused on what we have in common, cherishing our shared humanity, and supporting one another through our differences. By coming together, we can not only remember the unity of that fateful day but also build a brighter future where progress is born from compassion and understanding.

A casual dinner tonight with friends who just happen to be incredible forces for good in the world: David Hogg, of March For Our Lives fame, and Nate Mook, who’s done phenomenal work with World Central Kitchen. Sitting around the table, sharing stories, and diving into discussions, is always a fun time more than a meeting of minds, though there was plenty of inspiration to go around. Our conversation meandered from the light-hearted to the profound, touching on the challenges we’ve faced and the victories we’ve celebrated in our quests to make a difference. It’s clear that what drives us is a shared belief in the power of creativity and the necessity of taking risks. David’s relentless advocacy for gun control and Nate’s innovative approach to humanitarian aid, especially in Ukraine, through food are testaments to what can be achieved when we dare to think differently and act boldly. What I loved about tonight was the reminder that change doesn’t always come from grand gestures, but often from the small, consistent efforts of friends like us, who are committed to making the world a better place. It reinforced my belief that being unafraid to take big risks and push the boundaries of “the possible” is not just beneficial but essential in our efforts to effect systemic change. So, here’s to more nights like these, where the lines between friends and changemakers blur, and where we remind each other that in the face of adversity, our creativity and willingness to risk are our greatest assets.

🇺🇸 Remembering September 11th, 2001 🇺🇸 Today, we pause to honor the memory of the lives lost and the countless heroes who emerged on that fateful day 22 years ago. September 11, 2001, was a day that shook our nation to its core and changed the world forever. As we reflect on the tragic events of that day, let us also remember the resilience, unity, and strength that emerged in the aftermath. The stories of first responders, volunteers, and ordinary citizens coming together to support one another remind us of the power of compassion and solidarity in the face of adversity. In our professional lives, we can draw inspiration from the spirit of resilience displayed by those affected by 9/11. Let us strive to build a better future, one where we can work together to create a world that values peace, inclusivity, and understanding. Let us never forget, and let the memory of 9/11 serve as a reminder of the importance of coming together as a global community, even in the face of the most challenging circumstances. ✅ https://lnkd.in/dr5ZaY7

Q: Why is having a Will so important? 🤔❓ A: Dying without a Will means laws dictate who gets your assets, possibly overlooking your loved ones and favourite causes. This "intestate" scenario can lead to outcomes you never intended. A Will clearly expresses your wishes, ensuring your legacy aligns with your values and supports those you care about ✏️ In Australia, if you're over 18, you can create a Will to protect your wishes. It must be signed in front of two witnesses over the age of 18 who aren't beneficiaries. A Will is a reflection of your love, beliefs, and values. It's a way to ensure your legacy of care and compassion continues beyond your lifetime ❤️ By choosing to leave a gift in your Will to the Heart Foundation, your legacy will ensure your care and compassion continues for generations! This week (18-24 March), Safewill is offering to help write your will for FREE as part of Free Wills Week. Learn more about writing your Will online for free 👉 https://lnkd.in/erVYM5VS... Creating a Will is a personal and significant decision. While online resources are helpful, personal situations differ. We recommend seeking legal advice to ensure your Will accurately reflects your wishes and complies with all requirements, especially for more complex situations. Let's ensure your legacy beats on with love and purpose 💓
