I have noticed that the American restaurant industry is facing significant challenges. The current pandemic, combined with the consistently increasing labor costs, has resulted in a difficult situation for restaurant owners. They are struggling to find employees who can work for lower wages due to the decrease in sales. Consequently, many restaurants are left with only minimum wage workers who may not speak English fluently and may not be very friendly. These workers often move slowly and make mistakes while taking orders, which leads to an unsatisfactory experience for the customers, regardless of the quality of the food. This raises the question of why customers should be expected to tip when they receive poor service, which only leads to decreased sales for the restaurant. We believe that our company's AI can help address these issues in a more compassionate and efficient manner than humans. https://lnkd.in/gp5Sjftz

TIPPING has become a private argument for customers. Not very long ago servers were limited to waiters who were legally underpaid because the restaurant industry argued that servers essentially created their own sales commission by providing good relations with the customer and up selling. The waitstaff in the restaurant industry demanded that they be paid higher wages, and customers began to question why they would need to continue to tip, because the reason was no longer held that the waitstaff were legally underpaid due to gotten commissions. Furthermore the cost of meals increased to afford the higher wage of the waitstaff. Today, waiters and waitresses have almost been eliminated and replaced with table side technology, or are asked to order from the cashier, neither of which are waiters. A waiter in a common restaurant could earn a minimum of $120 on wages and another $300 in tips per 8-hr shift. A average of $52 an hour for serving plates of food. Tips on tickets hardly ever have 10% written on them. The amounts shown begin at 15% or 18%. Dining checks are now pressed in front of customers with percent and denominations printed on the document and cashiers stare the customer down until the customer elects which amount they are going to pay on top of taxes. Now fast food, DoorDash, grocery delivery persons all want a percent on top of the cost of the meal, delivery fee or final tab. Here is a scenario below, what would you do in this situation? https://lnkd.in/g56fxhhA

TEFL-TESOL certified Leadership, Communications & Phonetics Coach who helps everyone become better leaders.
I recently took a chance on a sincere salesperson and signed up for the company's low-priced service. Sad to say, even though I trusted this salesperson's authenticity, the quality of his team was another thing altogether. It reminded me of the adage "when we pay peanuts, we'd always get monkeys." But should it? Which is the chicken and which the egg - the low quality 𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 the low price or the low price 𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 the low quality? I often hear stall owners at hawker centres react to complaints from customers with, "You want good service, go to a restaurant!" So, is it universally accepted that if you want cheap, you must be prepared to forgo quality, service or dare I say, decent human dignity? Do we determine the quality (and effectiveness) of everything solely on its price tag? Does expensive always mean good and cheap always bad? Does this also apply to our choices of school, medical service, and potential life partner? It is a shame that we can't give our best all the time because of how proud we are of ourselves.
