Teaching an animal to recall. Does anyone notice that their cats recall better than their dog's? Do you know why that is? I used to have this amazing tuxedo cat that would come to me from fields away. I could blow a whistle, call his name, or make his come when called sound and within minutes, at the latest, he would come in a fast trot. He didn't take minutes because he took his time. It was because he was so far away. So why did he want to come from so far away? F...O...O...D! Come when called = a treat OR Come when called = punishment from a shock collar if they aren't fast enough or dont respond? It's your choice! I love that my animals WANT to come to me. I don't care if it's because they get a treat. The convenience of them being safe and happy far outweighs the fact that I have to take the 2 seconds to pick up a reward for them. Over time, it's easy to fade out treating every single time. It is not easy fading out the shock collar. They KNOW when they have it on and when they don't. The treat is always at the end. You can't fix the recall if you forgot to put the shock collar on🤷♀️ **This is Tina teaching her bunny to recall. #dogsarentdumb #rewardgoodbehaviors #wearentsuperiorbeings #atraineddogisahappydog #preciousk9s #417pitgirl
