Earlier in July, CANTO Caribbean hosted its 39th Annual Conference & Trade Exhibition in Miami. I delivered a keynote on "Digital Sustainability & Investment Challenges in the #Caribbean". While I can't list everything that I discussed here, I wanted to share some excerpts from my presentation. What was the context? ✅ IDB research has shown that significant gaps in broadband access do exist across the Caribbean.  ✅ So, what does the existence of these gaps imply for public policy and #digitaltransformation programs in the Caribbean? What is the next step for policymakers? What will it take to generate the investment to close digital infrastructure gaps from stakeholders in the right places and in the right ways?  ✅  It will be necessary to equip the population, regardless of their circumstances with digital skills that allow them to effectively utilize digital tools and connectivity. ✅ This means a radical re-engineering of our learning ecosystems, platforms, and offerings to deliver world-class content, certify talent at a faster rate and diversify the pool of ICT talent in our countries to become a shared resource and strength for the region.
