Emirates Shipping Line Bolsters Refrigerated Cargo Services with New Equipment
Shipping Arabia, June 22, 2024 — Emirates Shipping Line (ESL) has significantly boosted its capabilities in refrigerated container transport by acquiring 300 Carrier Transicold PrimeLINE® refrigeration units, marking a substantial enhancement in their service offerings for temperature-sensitive shipments.
The decision to integrate these units was driven by the need for reliable temperature control, rapid cooling capabilities, and overall unit dependability—factors critical to preserving cargo quality. Caesar Yiu, ESL's Head of Container Management, expressed confidence that these features of the Carrier Transicold units would offer optimal solutions to meet their customers' requirements.
Leow Eng Meng, Director of Container Sales at Carrier Transicold Asia Pacific, also noted the strong industry reputation of the PrimeLINE units for their high capacity, efficient temperature regulation, robust airflow performance, and economic benefits in terms of operational cost.
The installation of these units, predominantly on 40-foot high-cube containers, positions ESL to enhance its refrigerated transport services along the key trading routes connecting the Indian Subcontinent, the Middle East, and the Red Sea. This acquisition is set to fortify ESL's shipping operations and support its strategic expansion in the competitive refrigerated cargo market.
