Why does it matter to wear perfume or homme to work? Building a Perfume and Homme (Mens Perfume) Collection For one whom creates DIY perfumes, I do not necessarily wear to much of it, especially in work spaces. There are many benefits to wearing perfume or cologne to work. Smelling good can help you feel good. It's an endorphin boost and can improve how you feel about yourself. Besides, there is a huge misconception that fragrances have to be gender-specific. While some fragrances are marketed toward women and others toward men, in reality, no rule says you can not wear whatever fragrances you like. Sometimes it helps to smell fragrances that are considered great and unique. Instead grab some samples from the counter when out shopping, this is because individual body chemistry can affect the way fragrances smell on skin and allow the perfume to develop on your skin . A full beauty line complete with makeup/fragrance/skincare was once limited to a handful of top fashion labels like Chanel, Dior, YSL, and Tom Ford. But amid the luxury fashion slowdown, the beauty rush is on: -Brands that had taken a years- or decades-long hiatus from fragrance like Balmain, Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen, and Balenciaga are all getting back into the category at once. -Most luxury brands have traditionally stuck to fragrance. But makeup has been close behind for more and more of them, as Celine got into the lipstick category this year and Balmain and Miu Miu are among those set to launch makeup. -This makes the luxury space more crowded than ever, and brands must find their right beauty niche. Some, like Celine, are sticking to their ultra-exclusive positioning, while others like Prada Beauty are going wider with TikTok and Sabrina Carpenter to drive a viral craze with Gen-Z. CHANEL’s 2024 (In a nutshell) CHANEL started 2024 with its 2023 earnings report. In 2023, Chanel’s sales grew by 16%, reaching $19.7 billion (9% came from raising its prices, and 7% came from selling more products than in 2022). Chanel made most of its money in the Asia-Pacific region, which brought in over $10 billion after growing by 17.7%. Europe also did well, growing by 18.8% to reach $5.6 billion. Meanwhile, sales in the Americas grew more slowly, increasing by 2.6% to $3.9 billion. Chanel also opened more than 20 new beauty stores, mostly in Asia and the U.S. In Jan’24, CHANEL opened a new store in Mumbai at Phoenix Palladium Mall. Its third store in India, focusing on perfumes and beauty products, and it’s a big step for Chanel in growing its presence in the Indian market. CHANEL (under Leena Nair) worked on being more eco-friendly in 2024. It focused on improving the environment by restoring nature and fighting climate change. Chanel launched a new lipstick called 31 Le Rouge. It comes in a glass case, can be refilled, and shows that Chanel cares about being more eco-friendly. It also invested in reusing materials and promoting women’s independence in its supply chain. In Sept’24, Simona Cattaneo became the new President of CHANEL’s Fragrance and Beauty division. She took over from Anne Kirby who had been in charge for five years and decided to retire. Chanel’s perfumes Chance and Coco Mademoiselle sold really well and helped boost fragrance sales, while the classic N°5 continued to sell steadily as usual. CHANEL revealed its Cruise 2024/25 collection on a rooftop in Marseille, France. The collection featured designs that mix traditional styles with more contemporary looks. CHANEL’s Winter 2024 beauty collection focused on luxury and high-quality products, including its famous N°5 perfume and new makeup items like the Enchanted Night eyeshadow palette and long-lasting lip products. CHANEL showed its 2024 Métiers d’Art collection in Hangzhou, China. The collection combined classic styles like tweed with newer, more lively designs. CHANEL launched its Fall-Winter 2024/25 RTW clothing collection, mixing traditional and modern styles. The collection was shown in a film and photos taken by photographers Inez & Vinoodh, with actress Margaret Qualley, who is a Chanel ambassador, modeling the designs. The Fall-Winter 2024/25 Haute Couture collection by CHANEL was presented at the famous Palais Garnier in Paris. The fashion show combined the styles of opera and Chanel, showcasing beautiful, detailed designs with a romantic touch that stayed true to the Chanel’s signature look. In Dec’24, Matthieu Blazy, a 40-year-old designer from Paris, was chosen as Chanel’s new creative director, taking over from Virginie Viard. Blazy is known for his elegant style and creative ideas, and he helped improve Bottega Veneta with his designs. He will start working at CHANEL in April’25, and his first fashion show for Chanel will be in Oct’25. #luxury
