Fraud prevention tip #10: Be aware of phishing scams. When checking your email or doing business online, make sure you know the source is legitimate. An identity thief may set up a "phishing" website that looks identical to your or other business where you have an account. These phishing scams are created to access your personal information and attempt accessing your bank account or other accounts. Do not give your debit card or account number to someone who calls asking for the information. This includes clicking on a link that has been sent to you via text message, through email, or social media messaging platforms. These are all examples of phishing scams to avoid.

Scammers have launched an email phishing scam under the guise of enhancing security measures. The email prompts recipients to click on a link to set up a fake "American Express Personal Safe Key," - which falsely promises to protect them against phishing attacks. But it's just a ploy to steal personal information from unsuspecting cardholders. Tricky, right? So, how can you protect yourself from falling for scams like these? Here are a few tips: • Always stay cautious when clicking on links or providing personal information, even if it appears to be from a trusted source. • Contact the company directly through their official channels (such as their website or customer service line) if you receive any suspicious emails. • Be wary of urgent messages claiming that your account is at risk - scammers often use fear tactics to make you act impulsively. Remember, when in doubt, it's best to err on the side of caution. #FraudPrevention #Cybersecurity #BusinessSecurity
