Recently attended a thought-provoking presentation by Mauro Napoletano on "MISSION-ORIENTED POLICIES AND THE 'ENTREPRENEURIAL STATE' AT WORK", joint with Andrea Roventini Mariana Mazzucato Giovanni Dosi and Francesco Lamperti The key takeaway? Effective innovation policies thrive on the establishment of public research bodies. This approach sparks radical innovations, expanding technological opportunities for private firms and catalyzing positive hysteresis effects. The result? Witnessing what is happening in the UK with the different initiatives sponsored by the Government, it would be good to get some more alignment based on the recommendations below... Following the election a week ago, a new Parliament has gathered, and a new Labour Government has been formed. At Ayming we're calling on the Government to define how #innovation forms a part of its strategy for economic #growth. We strongly believe that innovation and technology can be a contributor to the economy, as part of a wider industrial strategy. However, that needs to be more than just a soundbite: we need concrete actions to foster an environment in which the best of British innovation is nurtured, incentivised, and rewarded.
