Recently attended a thought-provoking presentation by Mauro Napoletano on "MISSION-ORIENTED POLICIES AND THE 'ENTREPRENEURIAL STATE' AT WORK", joint with Andrea Roventini Mariana Mazzucato Giovanni Dosi and Francesco Lamperti The key takeaway? Effective innovation policies thrive on the establishment of public research bodies. This approach sparks radical innovations, expanding technological opportunities for private firms and catalyzing positive hysteresis effects. The result? A higher growth potential for the economy, lower unemployment rates, all while maintaining control over the public deficit. Inspiring insights for shaping impactful policy initiatives! Following the election a week ago, a new Parliament has gathered, and a new Labour Government has been formed. At Ayming we're calling on the Government to define how #innovation forms a part of its strategy for economic #growth. We strongly believe that innovation and technology can be a contributor to the economy, as part of a wider industrial strategy. However, that needs to be more than just a soundbite: we need concrete actions to foster an environment in which the best of British innovation is nurtured, incentivised, and rewarded. Here is our Manifesto for Innovation, in which my colleagues Mark Smith, Njy Rios, Jonathan Memel, and I outline nine key recommendations that we encourage the Government to follow.
🚀 Ayming UK launches Manifesto for Innovation! 📈 For over a decade, the goal of making the UK the "next Silicon Valley" or an international "science superpower" has remained unrealised. What British businesses need now is a comprehensive, long-term strategy for growth. 📈 Ayming's Manifesto for Innovation is a call to action for the new Labour government to leverage innovation and unleash Britain's potential to become a leading innovation economy. 🌟 🔍 What's inside? Our experts outline nine key recommendations to nurture, incentivise, and reward innovation: 📑 Develop and launch a new Innovation Strategy 🧠 Strengthen innovation skills and capabilities 🤝 Expand the investor partnerships programme 🎯 Focus national strategy on key priority areas 🌱 Introduce an ambitious industrial strategy and decarbonisation plan 💸 Reaffirm commitment to R&D tax relief 🏆 Launch accreditation for R&D tax advice providers 📊 Widen the scope of ERIS (Enhanced R&D Intensive Scheme) 📈 Monitor the impact of recent scheme changes on SMEs 💡 It's time for a reset. With the formation of a new government, now is the perfect moment to reassess our national innovation strategy to ensure it is fit for accelerating economic transformation and meeting the societal challenges of the 21st century. 🌍 📥 Download your copy of the Manifesto for Innovation today and join us in driving the UK towards a brighter, more innovative future! https://lnkd.in/e5akHhkv #Innovation #Productivity #Growth #UKEconomy #Ayming #RDTax #Tech #Strategy #InnovationManifesto #GrantFunding #Grants #FurtherTogether Mark Smith Njy Rios Benjamin Craig Jonathan Memel Fran Wilhelm Giuditta Villa Danny Vyse Nick Tribe

Great Article Jaret C. Riddick, PhD I think the main question for me "whether place-based innovation can build resilience in these vulnerable communities that not only boosts local economies, but also enhances U.S. national security by reducing vulnerability to our primary strategic competitors on the global stage?" You are spot on with your answer: tech-based economic development! https://lnkd.in/esRbRf-P
