How Can You Reduce Crime in Your Community? #Police #Investigate #Proactive #DoSomething Burglars know the territory. Generally they are males and young. Twenty to thirty years old. They know their target houses because they live 2-3 miles from the burglary target buildings. They do the burglaries in plain view of the neighborhood. Neighbors won't say anything out of fear. Do the police in your community investigate burglaries? Do they canvass the neighborhood? Probably not. What's worse is, the people who hang out in local bars know about the crimes and who is doing them. But they won't tell. Decoy bait houses are a good idea. Because people are weak. Afraid. How many of these burglaries are drug crime related? Look into that. Do you want to help beat the drug related crime in your neighborhood? Picture this. Your local radio and news media report a local drug death. It's a kid. The newspaper has a picture of the victim. Your curious. You buy the newspaper. It's Your Kid! https://lnkd.in/gS6PxwHN

That the decline in traffic citations and enforcement in both Blue and Red polities (cities, states) undermines the premise that a push back against Police practices results in higher traffic deaths. “Police conduct more than 20 million traffic stops per year. Although most traffic stops end without incident, recent high-profile deaths of Black motorists following traffic stops have prompted calls for reform,” write Kyleigh Clark-Moorman, Ph.D. and Danielle Crimmins in their National Institute of Justice research article, “Alternative Traffic Enforcement: Identifying Areas for Future Research.” This article provides an overview of the current state of alternative traffic enforcement practice and discusses opportunities for future research. In the Evaluated Programs section of the article, one of the programs they highlight is Ramsey County, Minnesota, and the analysis conducted by JIL: “In 2021, the Ramsey County (Minn.) Attorney’s Office issued a policy to cease prosecuting felony cases that originated solely from traffic stops for low-level offenses unrelated to public safety. These included those for vehicle light violations or expired registrations. The St. Paul Police Department supported the policy and advised officers not to initiate traffic stops solely for minor violations.
