Cary's greatest strength is our people, and we're proud to invest in our staff to better support our citizens. As Cary projects reach a higher level of maturity and complexity, project management skills are of the utmost importance. This spring, Cary piloted a Project Management Academy to 16 staff in collaboration with NC State Continuing Education to develop key competencies for project managers and optimize project management practices and systems within Cary. This program is the first of its kind in the local government space. Cary hopes to challenge the standard for how municipalities approach project management moving forward. All 16 employees gained valuable knowledge and hands-on experience from the opportunity and will sit for the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification exam later this year.

Super proud of this first cohort of 16 Cary staff as we collectively make strides together to become more unified in project delivery and providing project management to a higher degree of professionalism and standard of care! I really enjoyed making this happen in Cary! Special thanks to NCSU and Tanden, LLC.
