Body positivity is a social movement and philosophy that encourages people to adopt a positive and accepting attitude towards their own bodies and the bodies of others, regardless of shape, size, appearance, or ability. It challenges societal norms and stereotypes around beauty, advocating for the acceptance of all body types. Key Principles of Body Positivity 1. Self-Love and Acceptance: Encouraging individuals to appreciate their bodies as they are and to cultivate self-love. 2. Challenging Societal Beauty Standards: Rejecting unrealistic and narrow standards of beauty perpetuated by media and advertising. 3. Inclusivity: Embracing diversity in body shapes, sizes, colors, and abilities. 4. Health at Every Size (HAES): Promoting the idea that health and well-being can be achieved at any size, and focusing on healthy behaviors rather than weight loss. 5. Mental Health Awareness: Recognizing the impact of body image on mental health and advocating for mental well-being. The Impact of Social Media Social media has played a significant role in the body positivity movement by providing a platform for individuals to share their stories and connect with others. Hashtags like #BodyPositivity, #SelfLove, and #AllBodiesAreGoodBodies have gained popularity, spreading the message of body acceptance. However, social media can also be a double-edged sword. While it offers a space for positive representation, it can also perpetuate unrealistic standards and comparison culture. It's important to curate a social media experience that supports and uplifts one's body image. So women stop judging your body and accept it happily and confidently the way it is because it's so beautiful.

One of my biggest transformations happened when I finally accepted myself and learned to appreciate and embrace my female body. When I’ve realised that self-love is the recipe for healing. When I loved myself through the good times and loved myself even harder through the bad times. Instead of negative self-talk I practiced compassion. Instead of criticism I learned to accept myself. Instead of restriction I fed my body abundance of nourishment. Instead of pushing myself, I let myself rest. My goal is to teach women to love and appreciate their bodies, to practice self-love and acceptance. Feminine beauty is not a function of clothes, hair or make up. Feminine beauty comes from within. It’s an internal light that each woman has. Society and billion dollar beauty industries always try make women feel that we aren’t desirable unless we fit into some box of some “beauty standards”. It’s time we rise against that! Our female bodies are the most powerful and resilient: When we nourish your body When we're kind with ourselves When we ebb and flow with our cycles When we prioritise rest When we're gentle with ourselves When we cultivate positive mindset Because when women feel good - everyone wins. So let that light shine. Start putting yourself first. Commit to yourself. Start investing in yourself. Because you deserve it! ______________________________________________ The doors to my group coaching program Hormonal Peace closing this weekend. If you're ready to commit to your health, learn how to balance your hormones naturally so you can have more energy, feel healthy & balanced in your body, become more resilient to stress. 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 Contrary to popular belief, making yourself a priority isn't just about you. I speak with many women who think that putting themselves first means neglecting everyone else. But, that's far from the truth! Skipping your own needs isn't heroics or time-saving—it's just making life tougher. Taking care of your well-being, both physically and emotionally, not only boosts your own life but also brightens up the days of those around you. You become a better : -Partner -Parent -Friend -Colleague -Pro human being With more pep in your step, a clearer head, and extra resources, you're a powerhouse for the things you love. And guess what? You're setting the standard. So, next time that "selfish" guilt trip tries to sneak in… Remember, this isn't just for you (though you totally deserve it), it's a win-win all around! #WomenHealthTips #HealthyLivingTips #WellnessJourney #MindfulHealth #LifestyleChoices #WomenWellness #HealthyHabitsForAll #SelfCareTips #WellbeingForWomen #MentalWellbeingMatters #EmotionalWellbeing #BehaviourChange #HealthyMindsets #BalanceForBetter #optimalhealth #success #longevity #longevitymedicine #burnout #burnoutprevention #burnoutrecovery

If you are a fan of Lizzo, then you might know about her recent NYT article on her weight loss and stance on body positivity. She’s getting some criticism from this, obviously it feels out of alignment with her “body positive” messages she previously espoused. Because she is such a wildly successful and talented black woman, she is not immune to cultural pressures and stigma. If you follow her on social media, you will know she talks about how some people are obsessed with her appearance, making fat shaming comments. Lizzo has straight up said, “My body is nobody’s business.” 100%! Also, she is on record saying that, “The idea of body positivity, it’s moved away from the antiquated mainstream conception,” she said. “It’s evolved into body neutrality.” The article goes on to day, “Yet to hear her tell it, she is anything but neutral. “I’m not going to lie and say I love my body every day,” Lizzo said. “The bottom line is, the way you feel about your body changes every single day.” I agree with her on this. Bodies change and how we feel about our bodies varies from day to day, season to season, month to month. It’s a myth that we “arrive” at some place and “always love our bodies.” We are human after all, and our moods as well as our bodies are moving targets subject to ongoing fluctuations. That’s the nature of bodies: to change. Body positivity is about “loving your body” - which is a lofty idea. For some folks this might feel unattainable and even false. More recently, the body positive concept has been co-opted by thinner white women on social media who cannot relate to stigma and bias that is faced by folks in larger bodies. We are moving away from being “body positive” in this sense, although, if one wants to embrace this, it’s not necessarily a bad thing. We just want to be mindful of inclusivity in this area and to know that we don’t want to start and end with “body positivity.” We need to make “body image” healing bigger than ourselves. Instead of hating our bodies and acting in ways that aren’t nourishing and kind, we want to call a truce on our automatic patterns of negativity that lead to the inevitable shame spiral. This is where body neutrality can be helpful. In order to really heal our relationship with food and body, we need to become more conscious of our thoughts, that is, how we talk to ourselves about our bodies. We need to stop body bashing, body checking and using critical words to scrutinize the body. This can help move us out of a negative shame spiral and into a more neutral and possibly acceptant place. Instead of the automatic negative barrage, stop yourself and find a place of neutrality; neither ‘good’ nor ‘bad’ judgements here, just a sense of accepting what is, “This is my body here and now; it is what it is.”

Empowering Business Women to Thrive ✨ Transforming Lives through Harmony, Weight Loss, and Confidence. Let's create a harmony between your busy lifestyle and your body's needs.
Dear wonderful women, Let's have a heart-to-heart about confidence and the beautiful journey of embracing our health and fitness beyond just chasing a certain body image. Over the last few days I’ve discussed this with so many of my clients. True confidence isn't found in the mirror or on a scale. It's cultivated through the daily choices we make to prioritize our well-being, to nourish our bodies, and to honor our health. It's about showing up for ourselves, not to fit into society's narrow standards, but to thrive in our own skin. It's about celebrating our strength, our resilience, and our inner radiance that shines brighter than any number on a dress tag. Confidence blossoms when we shift our focus from how we look to how we feel. It's about the energy we exude when we're fueled by wholesome foods, when we move our bodies in ways that make us feel alive, and when we honor our mental health as much as our physical well-being. So let's redefine what it means to be 'fit' and 'healthy'. It's not about perfection..it's about progress. It's about finding joy in the journey, embracing our imperfections, and loving ourselves fiercely along the way. It's found in the love and care you show yourself each and every day. Style Cheerleader for professional women | Connect your inner power with your outer style! | Award-winning personal stylist, colour consultant & body shape expert.
Why you need to say goodbye to size… Truly understanding and embracing my body shape was THE best choice l've made for my mental and physical health. It's enabled me to learn to love myself and to live for the now, the right now!!! Not when l've lost weight or have tried that other rubbish diet - the size 16 me that's here right now. My business is about making other people feel great in themselves and loving the skin they're in. My style experiences were created with passion and positive energy for enabling women to feel loved and supported in their style and body confidence journey. I know how powerful it is to accept and love your body after years of loathing and over exercising to punish my body for the shape it was and still is and now I have redirected my obsession with dieting and hating my body into becoming a passionate expert and advocate for other women (and myself!!) I support and encourage clients to treat everyday as special and to live a life in full colour - seeing the joy in the small moments and giving women back their confidence. Often it starts with small changes and evolves into positive and impactful moves in my clients lives through greater self-belief, ability to recognise and celebrate their strengths and holding space for them to take the time for themselves. I believe wholeheartedly in personal style as a self-care ritual and it all starts with embracing and loving the skin you're in. Who’s with me?! ⬇️⬇️⬇️ . . . #bodyconfidence #bodyshapeexpert #lovetheskinyourein #selfconfidence #personalstylist #stylenotsize #loveyourself #selfcare
