Fireworks Safety: Attend public firework shows organized by professionals. Stay at least 500 feet away from the display. If you’re setting off fireworks at home: Never give fireworks to small children. Follow instructions on the packaging. Keep a supply of water nearby. Ensure the person lighting fireworks wears eye protection. Light only one firework at a time and never relight a dud. Store fireworks away from children and pets. Picnic Safety: Wash your hands before preparing food. Keep perishable foods in a cooler with ice or freezer gel packs. Grill outdoors, away from structures and flammable materials. Supervise the grill when in use. Use long-handled tools for grilling. Beach Safety: Watch the weather and avoid water during lightning or thunder. Swim only at beaches with lifeguards. Designate a “water watcher” to supervise everyone in and around the water. Wear U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets. Avoid diving headfirst and be cautious of aquatic life. If caught in a rip current, swim parallel to the shore. Remember, safety is paramount during holiday celebrations! 🎆
