Brand Editor for Outshift by Cisco 🌉 Award-winning Storyteller & Creative ✨ Speaker 🎤 St. Baldricks Top Fundraiser (x7) 👩🏼🦲 Raising over $180k for Children’s Cancer Research 🍀
With just 2 Days before Shave Day, we’ve slipped back into the 2nd place spot overnight — proof that you’ve got to keep donating!
This is the HOME STRETCH.
Am I only going to get louder? You know I am.
This isn’t about me.
It isn’t about 1st or 2nd place.
It’s about funding as much as we possibly can — pouring every extra cent we have — into these kids.
If you have a job right now — if you have that ‘little treat’ income level — if you’ve got $5 for Starbucks, whatever Netflix is currently charging you monthly, or enough for the movies…CONGRATULATIONS!
You’ve got enough to donate to help us fund better, safer treatments for kids battling cancer! (And I am screaming that EVEN LOUDER if you’re working for a company that MATCHES donations!)
Annnnnd you can do that right here. 😉
KEEP DONATING AND SHARING: https://lnkd.in/dWuj5vz
PS: If you currently can’t donate — likes, comments, and shares are free AND help this life-saving work get in front of other folks who may be able to donate. So keep it up! 🫶🏼

It’s important to have something that #motivates you to focus on each week, especially on a Monday.
For me, I have found a lot of motivation in the #nonprofit space and in the 🌎 of doing my part to positively impact someone’s life, especially if they are struggling in any way.
If you think a similar way, you might be involved in non profit work yourself. So, here are three essential #fundraising campaigns that nonprofits should consider each year, that I don’t want you to miss out on.
1. Annual Giving Campaign - This is a year-round effort focused on building a broad base of support. Many nonprofits launch this campaign toward the end of the year, coinciding with the holiday season and the tax year-end. It involves direct mail, email, social media, and in-person solicitations. It can culminate in a significant event or drive to maximize donations.
2. Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Campaign - Peer-to-peer fundraising leverages supporters to fundraise on behalf of the nonprofit by encouraging them to share your mission with their networks. This campaign is often tied to an event, such as a walk, run, or challenge, where participants collect donations from friends and family, creating a larger reach.
3. Giving Tuesday Campaign - Held the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving. It’s a great opportunity for nonprofits to capitalize on social media momentum and end-of-year giving. With focused outreach through emails, social media, and partnerships, this can be a high-impact campaign that draws attention and quick donations.
What is something that #motivates you in your professional space this Monday? 🎉

Giving Back: The Power of Blood Donation 🩸🌟
Today, as a member of the Interact Club, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a Blood Donation Camp organized at my school. It was truly inspiring to witness so many of my fellow students step up to make a real difference. Knowing that just one blood donation can save up to three lives made every moment feel even more impactful.
This experience taught me a valuable lesson: even the smallest actions, like donating blood, can have a profound impact on the lives of others. In just a few minutes, we have the power to give someone a second chance, offer hope, and strengthen the health of our community. Personally, being part of this event made me realize how each of us, through small efforts, can contribute in meaningful ways. I felt a deep sense of pride knowing that by volunteering, I played a role in something so important—and I left with a renewed sense of purpose and gratitude.
💡Why Blood Donation Matters:
• Saves Lives: One pint of blood can help multiple people in critical need, whether it’s accident victims, patients undergoing surgery, or those battling serious illnesses.
• Quick & Easy: The process is safe, simple, and takes less time than you'd think. A small act, but with immeasurable impact.
• Community Spirit: It brings people together for a common cause, creating a stronger, more compassionate society.
I encourage everyone who is eligible to consider donating blood. It’s not just about the act itself—it’s about offering a lifeline to those who need it most. It’s safe, it’s simple, and it makes a world of difference. Together, we can create a ripple of positive change!
A huge thank you to my school, for organizing such an impactful event. Here’s to more opportunities to give back and support our community!

This past week was a whirlwind. We (Wheel) were at #DigitalPharmaEast, promoting our work with life science organizations and learning more about the challenges they face in supporting consumers. Then came a packed weekend—my son’s sports events, my daughter dancing at a local festival, the Wayne Wildcats fundraiser full of cheer and football, and, of course, the incredible #Reagan’sRun2024. (See below and make sure to donate! 💜 )
I’d love to say I gave my best to every single thing, but let’s be honest, I simply couldn’t, I was cooked... And as I reflected on this week, on everything I heard, saw, and experienced, it hit me just how human we all are and how hard balancing life is—let alone doing so with a challenging health condition or having to care for a family member or friend.
This brings me back to a realization that we get caught up in our business goals, focused on metrics, KPIs, and product innovation. But the truth is, the people we’re trying to help are just like us.
They’re not just patients or data points. They’re individuals, living full, complex lives, trying to juggle their own sets of challenges.
Yet, too often, we develop solutions from the organization’s perspective rather than through the lens of the person we're trying to help. We focus on solving the problem we think needs attention, designing around it, and then wonder why engagement falls short.
The reality is, we need to start by meeting people where they are, recognizing where they are in their health journey—whether they’re facing a new diagnosis, managing a chronic condition, or just trying to make it through their daily routine.
At the heart of every innovation we build is a person with a story, a challenge, and a desire for better health. When we approach our work with that in mind, we’re not just improving systems or efficiencies—we’re helping real people.
The next time we sit down to innovate, which will likely be today, let’s be sure to see it from their side of the table.

This month we are featuring Wolfiethon Team Captian Director, Sofia Mulligan. Keep reading to learn more about Sofia’s involvement and dedication to the cause on her campus, Stony Brook University 🎗️
⭐
Q: What inspired you to get involved with Wolfiethon/B+?
A: Upon meeting my org’s B+ Hero, Sabrina, I knew Wolfiethon was something I wanted to become more involved with because the impact we have is so tangible and profound. I went on to become my sorority’s team captain, which gave me the opportunity to grow closer with B+ Hero Sabrina and see how our hard work and fundraising manifests to help families with children fighting cancer. I’m now part of the Wolfiethon Executive Board for the 2024-25 academic year!
⭐
Q: What is your best fundraising tip?
A: Leverage your personal connections by sharing your story and passion for the cause— bring it back to WHY you’re raising money. Personalizing your outreach makes it more compelling and encourages others to contribute!
⭐
Q: What is the greatest lesson you've learned from your involvement with B+?
A: The greatest lesson I’ve learned is the power of community and collaboration— when people come together with a shared goal, they can make a significant impact on individual lives. Even the smallest of contributions can make a huge impact!
⭐
Q: What advice would you give to someone who wants to get more involved with B+?
A: Familiarize yourself with The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation: their mission, goals, and initiatives (you can learn a lot by visiting their website or their Instagram or Facebook pages). The next step would be to try to connect with organizations that have partnered with B+ at your school, and contribute in any way that you can— volunteer, fundraiser or donate, spread awareness, and participate in events!
Dividing donors based on their response to marketing activities can help you tailor strategies more effectively.
Building your marketing strategy to attract the already-organized donor is much more complicated than the rest of the types because he is a loyal donor to a certain charitable organization and a certain cause, such as orphans, heart defects, children's cancer, etc., and if you want to attract his or her attention through your marketing activities, you should know the exact persona (interests, donation behaviors, donation frequency, action triggers, why and when they respond, and the impact on his or her life) (The Big Reason Behind).
This will never be just a television ad, a social media post, or a billboard; it is more about diving into the psychological and emotional components and traits that motivate the donor to take the donation action.
Charity marketing should have a holistic strategy focused on building relationships and fostering a community of engaged supporters.

EDI consultant, and Grief Management Specialist. Multi-Award Winning Founder of nonprofit charity The Luca Foundation. An Author, Public Speaker, Podcaster of 'Live the Life you Love' on Spotify & CEO.
On Friday, The Luca Foundation was once again honoured to be a charity partner for the Women in Tech Awards. Huge thanks to the event organizers B EventsIfraz Ahmed and Anita Chumber for having us back! It's clear that our presence makes a significant impact each year. One of the sponsor speakers Natalie Sherratt mentioned how moving our work is, noting that each year I bring fresh insights and updates on what the charity has achieved with the funds raised. I also share the night's fundraising success.
This year, we raised an incredible £2,500 thanks to members of our team including Charlene Wall which will go towards repairing approximately 10 cuddle cots for the NHS across the UK. These funds make a profound difference, as I highlighted during the event. With an average of 15 babies dying each day in the UK, the impact is substantial.
As Baby Loss Awareness Week begins tomorrow, many parents will be remembering their child. Cuddle cots allow them to preserve their baby's body, giving them precious time to create lasting memories.
Statistics show that 1 in 4 women experience baby loss, while 1 in 7 face breast cancer in the UK. Although breast cancer receives considerable media attention and rightly so, but baby loss sadly does not. At The Luca Foundation, we aim to highlight the profound impact on families beginning their grieving process for a child they cannot raise. The dreams of a lifetime of memories are suddenly cut short, leaving scars that last forever which keynote speaker Lalita Taylor FRSA was profoundly moved to learn.
During Baby Loss Awareness Week, I encourage you to reach out to someone who has lost a baby. Remember the little ones who never got to live their lives. I urge companies, employers, and managers to show compassion to those enduring the lifelong heartache of not having their child with them.

Why do we do what we do? It comes down to our values.
Whether or not you’ve identified your values, you have them. We all do. And companies are no different.
When we know what we value, decision making is easier.
Take, for example, donation requests. Companies frequently get asked for cash or product donations to support charitable causes, from the local little league team, to raffles raising money for cancer research.
When you know what your company values, you can create a framework to decide which charitable causes you will support.
For example, if you sell bird feeders, you might focus your donation efforts on the National Audubon Society and their Migratory Bird Initiative. Or, if you sell children’s books, you could support Room to Read and their commitment to developing literacy skills in kids.
Values create clear guardrails for decision making. What we say ‘no’ to is as important as what we say ‘yes’ to, especially when we are voting with our dollars.
Have you experienced a time when your values helped you make a decision?

Supporting Causes That Matter: A Toast to Corporate Social Responsibility
As professionals, we often focus on targets and bottom lines, but there's an enriching aspect of our work that lies in giving back and supporting causes that resonate with our values. The Mater Chicks in Pink International Women's Day Fun Run is one such cause that's dear to my heart, supporting breast cancer research and those affected by it.
Corporate social responsibility is not just a buzzword; it's a commitment to make a positive impact in our communities. It's about extending support beyond the boardroom and into the heart of community needs. That's why I'm championing this cause, not only by participating but by offering a little incentive to encourage donations.
For every donation of $50 or more to my fundraising page, donors will be entered into a draw to win a VIP Champagne Masterclass for 10 people, valued at $1750. It's a session that promises to be as enlightening as it is enjoyable, perfect for team-building or treating your valued clients to an exclusive experience.
Let's come together as a community of professionals to support the Chicks in Pink and the vital work they do. Your donation could make a significant difference and also offer you the chance to win a memorable experience with one of the finest indulgences life has to offer - champagne.
To donate and enter the draw, please visit my fundraising page https://lnkd.in/gYCSZNEb.
Let's show that our corporate spirit includes generosity and support for worthy causes.
