Question: Do you read magazines? 🤓 If you do, leave a comment and share which ones and why you enjoy them 💬 I’ve always loved magazines! I used to cut them up and make my own versions when I was younger - guess you could say I’ve always been #creative in that way. Today I noticed Women’s Health Magazine had their Oct/Nov issue on display, but unlike all the other magazines, there were two cover options. I did a quick search and learned that Women’s Health only publishes 6 times a year where most magazines publish monthly. 🗓️ Hello budget for two covers 💰 Dove deeper in to this magazine and realized the content on the inside is identical - page for page. 👀 This is a great example of A/B testing, a methodology for comparing the performance of two versions of content to see which one appeals more to readers / consumers. 📊 What do you think about this concept? How can you apply this to your #marketing and #contentstrategy? #callmecass #womenshealth #strategicmarketing

I would do stuff like this all the time when working with different social media platforms and content by using different photos, or posting at different times of the day. Finding out what resonates most with an audience is important. Finetuning these techniques and tactics become crucial for when you really want someone to stop and take a look at your content. I think there is also a level of diversity, equity, and inclusion that come into play here. It's almost a bit of a secret survey they are doing to see which cover people prefer more.

A year ago I re-subscribed to a few magazines after going years without… I was already getting Smithsonian’s Air & Space for donating to the SI Air & Space museum, as well as a couple firearm-related ones due to a couple unmaintained memberships… I added Outside (their gear reviews are the best, plus an Outside+ membership gets access to their app containing outdoors documentaries like all of Warren Miller’s film), Wired (tech news), Scientific American (science/pop science news), and a local glossy mag, Northern Virginia Magazine, that covers various regional “best of” topics… I also had subscribed to 2600, the “hacker quarterly,” but it’s not as interesting as I remember, mostly just tech bro rants it seems… my dad used to get Popular Mechanics when I was a kid, had thought about adding that, too, but decided not to… 🤷♂️

Cassadee, I am all about having to market to all of your potential clients/target markets. Not everyone will be drawn to the same things and your approach should be versatile enough to reach more people. I read magazines in waiting rooms or when I travel, nothing on a regular basis.

Only while waiting in an office that actually has magazines. Before mobile phones gained all their power I would read magazines from many genres: * Housing, architecture, landscaping, gardens, etc * Tech, augmented reality, virtual reality, PC programming, etc * Science, genetics, robotics, AI, nano-technology, physics, etc * Skiing, skydiving, scuba, other extreme sports, etc * Health & Fitness, diets, nutrition, etc Now, I use FlipBoard to gather articles from around the net, follow several magazines, and have them all in my pocket.
