Last year we made a commitment during Pride month 🌈 to try and do better. So, one year later, where are we at? In this post, we won’t talk about the things we are working on (that will come later), but an important part of how we are approaching it. First step: We formed a DEIB committee. This is the first Employee Resource Group (ERG) of any kind at CatalystOne - so it was kind of a big thing! The committee was selected in a very deliberate way to try to represent different backgrounds, office locations, ages, genders, and departments within the organisation. We’re still figuring out some details: 👉 How will the group work? 👉 What kind of framework should we follow? 👉 How much time can we dedicate to the work? 👉 Do we need a budget? How much? That said, we've defined our mission statement and divided ourselves into groups for each of the DEIB pillars. We've made sure we have sponsors in the leadership team that work with us (thanks Hope Mears Østgaard and Anna Erlandsson), and carried out a survey to assess the AS-IS situation. As with many things, it all takes time, and things are moving slower than we all want – but they are moving. It’s a learning curve for us all but a journey we’re excited to be on. 🚀 🌈 How have you approached your DEIB initiatives? Have you formed ERG groups and what tips do you have to share? #LGBTQ+ #HR #HBTQ #passionforpeople #diversity

I'm a Leadership Coach who nurtures people to get real about equity. I'm a white queer man committed to self-definition, shifting power, co-conspiracy, joy & mind-body-spirit.
What is a Liberated Team? 🌿A team that does amazing things together that aren’t possible alone. 🌿A team that makes work meaningful and joyful for each member. 🌿A team characterized by equity, belonging, and transformation. What do we know about Liberated Teams? 🌿Liberated teams are good for the ‘full humans’ who work on them! 🌿Liberated teams are good for organizations! 🌿Becoming a Liberated Teams requires intention and ongoing practice because we live in a culture where teams are most often shaped to silence and erase rather than liberate and uplift. We’ve identified ‘Eight Habits of Liberated Teams’ to support our team coaching clients in shifting toward liberation with care & intention. 🚀Habit #4: ‘Joy’🚀 We cultivate joy and connection with one another. This means we know and treasure one another’s stories, we care about one another’s well being, and we play regularly as part of our work together. Curious how we can help your team become more liberated?
