The Federal Communications Commission's decision to allocate parts of the 6GHz spectrum band for shared use could provide some benefit to WISPs. However, the entrance of larger wireless carriers and cable providers into the fixed-wireless access market presents new challenges. Adapting their strategies, some WISPs are deploying fiber infrastructure or implementing a hybrid approach. To truly set themselves apart, delivering exceptional broadband experiences and nurturing subscriber loyalty are crucial. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eQeUbYSb #FCC #BroadbandAccess

President at DojoNetworks, the fastest growing managedWiFi provider for apartment buildings in the country.
It is very clear to me the FCC agenda is controlled by the cable companies. How is it possible that 100/20 is defined as broadband in 2024? This is very telling. This is defined specifically to give cable companies a pass. Today when we are talking about Gig and symmetric bandwidth 100 download over fiber (low latency) should allow you to do just about anything, but a 4k video stream requires 25mbps. So with 20mbps up you can't stream even one stream of 4k video up in realtime. So imho this was a miss, not defining this as 100/100mbps now. I also believe that the Cable Companies, specifically the 3 largest should be required to resell fiber to other companies and not be able to discriminate on who they sell to. This would push down pricing and create more competition and connect America. They shouldn't be able to take tax payer money to further secure their monopolies. Traditional telco companies (Verizon, ATT, and other baby bells) will resell to anyone, yet the Cable Companies will not sell to you if they think you are or deem you a competitor. If they receive any federal funding to build their networks they should be required to sell circuits without discrimination. #fcc

Hopefully people recognize what comcast and other cable providers are saying with these actions. They really don’t want to provide the fastest speeds possible unless someone else pays for the infrastructure. By accepting these taxpayer and rate payer funds the cable companies would need to upgrade their infrastructure to meet the growing speed needs and they have no interest in doing that. It’s a little confusing because on the surface it would appear they are getting money to use however they want but that isn’t the case. They are given money to provide a level of service they have been stagnant on and by accepting it they would have to upgrade their networks.
