Hello, dearest LinkedIn friends! 🤗 READ BELOW IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A JOB!!! As many of you know, I work as an intern at my church here in Wheaton, IL. It’s a church called Faith Covenant Church, and it is an exceedingly special place. It’s a church from which so much of my community flows, where believers are encouraged and challenged to know and live out the radicalness of the Gospel, and where Christ and His loving plan for the restoration of the world is preached in word and in deed. If you’re looking for a job at a loving, inter-generational, and proudly imperfect church like ours, I might just have some opportunities for you! There are TWO job openings at my church, which I will briefly describe below. The first open position is one we’re calling Part-Time Director of Next Gen Ministry. The job is focused on facilitating our church’s overall ministry to children, youth, parents, and guardians to fulfill our church’s mission of connecting diverse people into compelling Christian community to grow them as disciples of Jesus who reach our neighbors for Christ. The day-to-day tasks would include working closely with our Outreach, Children’s, Youth, and Church Staff teams; coordinating logistics for retreats and events; facilitating intergenerational discipleship; etc. There is a lot more detail in the job description, which you can find on our website (linked at the bottom of this post). The second position we have open is our Office Manager position. Another part-time gig, this would include overseeing and keeping the books on our financial, operational, communication, and administrative comings and goings. As with the Director of Next Gen Ministry, you’d work closely with the Church Staff team as well as many of our other teams. If you’re passionate about the behind-the-scenes work of a church, this is an awesome position to consider! Keep in mind that both of these positions are part-time. Should you be interested in full-time hours, though, we would happily discuss the possibility of merging the two positions into one full-time position - we’re flexible like that! Assessment of participants' needs for supportive services. Acts as team leader, motivates and provides guidance to Employment Specialists I and II. Provides job development and placement services as needed to meet or exceed his/her monthly placement standards. Twenty placements a month. Job development with the area's private and public sector employers to identify job openings that might be filled by the program's participants. Provide participants with orientation to work benefits and protections such as social security, worker's comp, payroll deduction, and wages-and-hour standards. Represents the agency at the worksites. One of the reasons that people are finding job searches are taking longer is because a lot of the posted jobs are phantom jobs Over the last couple years, HR teams created evergreen postings because the rates of quitting were so high post COVID that they needed to backfill roles constantly A lot of companies have kept those postings but people aren't quitting This is why you are seeing open positions remain elevated while permanent job losses hit multi-year highs These statistics are bad/confusing for policy makers and job seekers https://lnkd.in/gb7rJKQR

Heads need to roll at the Palmetto, GA USPS! This is likely to be disproportionately affecting elderly citizens who utilize the USPS to pay bills and file their taxes. Can a USPS representative explain what recourse my 78 year old family member has with regards to Federal tax filing, based on the following details? This family member (Jane) does nothing online. Jane utilizes the USPS for all bill paying and tax filing. She uses a CPA to file her taxes. On March 4 Jane sent a tax preparation packet to her CPA, via the USPS. The packet included all receipts, income statements, tax forms, medical bills, etc. Tracking today shows "Moving Through Network" as of the last update March 8. Jane did not retain copies of any receipt, statement, etc. that was mailed to the CPA. What should Jane do now? If the IRS wants to arrest a 78 year old widow for not filing taxes, we can arrange to have the TV stations record the entire process!! WHAT accountability does the USPS have for causing this type of disruption? Can a class-action lawsuit be filed against the USPS for elderly abuse? https://lnkd.in/eWkyhAU8 https://lnkd.in/eWkyhAU8

Who doesn't love a good map, right? This one from Visual Capitalist shows the # of workers available for every 100 job openings. The more RED the state, the more competitive it is for jobs. The more BLUE the state, workers have the advantage and it's harder for employers to fill positions. Colorado is more on the blue side, with 54 workers for every 100 jobs.
