Today, get to know Desiree Gazdik, our Human Resources Manager, as she shares her passion for serving others and making a difference in our community. 1. What first brought you to Catholic Charities West Virginia? What keeps you there? -The opportunity to work somewhere I could be a part of making a difference and to be allowed to share openly my religious beliefs. I stay because I love my job and all the people I work with the help we are doing in the communities around West Virginia. 2. What is the most important thing you've learned in your time at Catholic Charities West Virginia? -We truly are a family-oriented agency. 3. What is your favorite part about working with Catholic Charities West Virginia? -All the people across the state I get to meet and interact with. 4. What are you most passionate about? -Making things simpler or better for others; it could be changing processes to make things run smoother with onboarding or hiring new employees to help maximize space in the office to make it athletically pleasing.

In totality, Tending the Garden is for marginalized survivors who are looking for community, healing, education, and growth. We strive to provide this community through retreats, workshops, live events, and resources. Our programming is created to serve underserved individuals who deserve to feel seen, supported, and heard in an environment where they will be respected and not re-traumatized.” I say all that to say I need YOUR HELP! We are doing a fundraiser where you do not have to spend money!! We just need you to answer a few questions and survey products you already use. Each short survey you complete can earn us $1.60 in donations. They take around 60 seconds You can complete up to 75 We have a chance to earn! $15,000!!! This year’s goal is to build out our community component and structure. Which looks like Support groups, message boards, resources, tools, and more. Organizations like the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, Tuesday's Children, and the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund accept donations to support their work. 6.    Attend local memorial events 7.    Educate younger generations about this significant day 8.    Engage in random acts of kindness.
