Thought for the day... Pass the mic. I have 3 reporters on my calendar for today. When each emailed me to talk, I immediately sent them other people to talk to who know more/better/differently than I do. I also emailed some public and nonprofit counselors and them the stories being worked on along with the reporter's email address. When I refer people to reporters here are my considerations: - People I refer share info in unselfish ways - People I refer are honest, nuanced, and thoughtful - People I refer center student experience - I refer public counselors to private to IECs at a ratio of 8 to 2 to 1 - I refer young scholars/professors to older/established scholars at a ratio of 3 to 1 - if you have unique expertise or insight I know of you'll be referred - I priortize those who will benefit from the exposure
