Upcoming changes to casual employment from 26 August: What you need to know Several key changes are set to take effect regarding casual employees: ✓ A revised definition of casual employment will be introduced. ✓ Employers will no longer be required to offer casual employees who commence employment on or after 26 August 2024 the option to convert to part-time or full-time roles. ✓ Employers will now need to provide casual employees with the ‘Casual Employment Information Statement’ not just before or shortly after employment begins, but also at the 6-month mark and at each subsequent 12-month anniversary during ongoing employment.
