Wrapping up a dynamic week at New York Climate Week, Dario Soto Abril facilitated an inspiring panel discussion on ‘Pioneering Innovations in Sustainable Food and Fashion’, hosted by Clim-Eat, Columbia Climate School, and Barnard College
#Food and #fashion are two of the most impactful global industries, shaping not just our lifestyles but also our environment and society. Yet, both face immense challenges regarding sustainability. The fashion industry is under fire for its environmental impact—textile waste, pollution, and labour ethics. Similarly, the food sector is scrutinised for deforestation, greenhouse gas emissions, and food waste.
As the interconnectedness of these challenges becomes clearer, so does the need for cross-sector collaboration. Dario remarked, “This event provided a unique platform for dialogue and innovation, uniting thought leaders and experts from both industries, as well as entrepreneurs, politicians, academics, and the next generation, all eager to tackle challenges and seize opportunities in sustainability.”

This week, Beautechful had a unique opportunity to get to know an innovative Start-up from Hungary 🇭🇺 called Respray 💦. It was a very special Zoom Call, as we got to talk to a company with a similar vision 👀. Respray and Beautechful aim to disrupt 🚀 the cosmetic retail market 💅🏻, making it sustainable🌱, additive 🦾, and customer-centered 👩🏼 by introducing beauty devices 💋 in cosmetic retail stores 🛒.
Respray is a market pioneer 🥇 who has proven that cosmetic devices in retail drug stores increase customer traction 🙋🏻♀️, traffic 👯♀️, and sales 💰 through a pilot project at Dirk Rossmann GmbH Hungary. Customer response was so high 📈, that Rossmann requested installing Respray devices in further 30 stores. 🚀
We are grateful to Respray founders Gergely Zámbó and Andor Réti for sharing their start-up development experience. We gathered valuable insights that will help adjust our strategy, choose the right partners 🤝, and make our pilot project planning. 🫶🏻
