To create a truly inclusive society, we must prioritize accessibility for all. By being neuro-inclusive and considering the needs of disabled individuals, we pave the way for a more accommodating environment that benefits everyone. Simple adaptations can make a world of difference when facing temporary disabilities or unforeseen challenges. It's not about reinventing the wheel, but rather about fostering a mindset that challenges the status quo and embraces inclusivity of diversity. If we aim to build a world that welcomes all, we must first cultivate empathy, kindness, and a willingness to change. Being exclusive is not a mark of distinction; true value lies in being accessible and inclusive. Are you ready to embrace change and champion accessibility in your personal and professional lives? Break free from limiting beliefs and create a more inclusive and diverse world together, one moment at a time. #Accessibility #Inclusivity #Diversity #Empathy #InclusionAndBelonging #AccessibilityMatters #DoYouHaveWhatItTakes #FoodForThought

Making community-level planning inclusive does not happen by chance. Ensuring #inclusivity in community-level #planning requires #deliberate actions to create #opportunities for the representation and contribution of #marginalized (and minority) groups, including differently-abled persons. We can harness their #unique perspectives and #insights to create more equitable and effective #solutions by actively involving these individuals in the planning process. Community-level planning that overlooks the voices of marginalized groups not only perpetuates inequality but also overlooks valuable contributions that could #enhance the overall #resilience and sustainability of the community. Therefore, it is imperative to implement measures that facilitate the active participation of people with disabilities in #decision-making processes. The Community Action Planning (#CAP) process, through the guideline, makes it explicit for inclusive planning and creates opportunities not just for participation but also for contribution and #involvement. By embracing inclusivity and valuing the contributions of all community members, we can #foster a more equitable and resilient society where everyone has a voice in shaping a collective #future. #InclusivePlanning #CommunityEngagement #DisabilityRights #Equity #Inclusion

I read a study a while back about the value of inclusion and how implementing programs, supports, and accommodations for students with disabilities will always benefit non-disabled students. The reverse however, is simply not true. This is like that. #accessibility #inclusion #disability
Our latest piece for WEF discusses how businesses are wise to embrace inclusion, as diverse workplaces lead to better decisions and innovation. Companies focusing on environmental, social, and corporate governance boost their operations and brand reputation. People with disabilities and their families wield a whopping $13 trillion in spending power. Neglecting to include them in the workforce means missing out on talent and revenue. At the Valuable 500, initiatives like Generation Valuable aim to boost disability inclusion and leadership, while companies PwC and Sanofi showcase the power of committed leadership in driving positive change. IKEA becomes the latest company to join the ranks of the 500 companies committed to ending disability exclusion in the workplace and has already showcased incredible work towards the Valuable 500 three Synchronised Collective Actions – Leadership, Reporting and Representation. Ultimately, disability inclusion is not just a moral imperative but also a business necessity. Advocating for inclusive representation, accessible content, and accountability is crucial for creating a more inclusive world. We look forward to attending the World Economic Forum Annual meeting in Davos 2024, where Caroline Casey will be taking part in the 'Diversity in Practice' session with CEOs, in addition to numerous other speaker events; meetings with our partners and focussing on our third Synchronised Collective Action around Representation. 🌟 Empowerment Through Togetherness! 🤝💙 Let's shift our approach from doing things FOR people with disabilities to doing things WITH them. This simple change holds incredible power—it's about fostering empowerment, strengthening our community, and upholding the dignity of every individual. 🌐 Doing WITH means collaboration, acknowledging the unique strengths each person brings to the table. When we work together, we tap into a wealth of diverse talents, creating a community that thrives on shared experiences and mutual respect. By doing things WITH, we amplify voices, recognize capabilities, and break down barriers. It's a journey toward inclusivity that leads to a richer, more vibrant community. 🤲 Let's embrace the power of togetherness, fostering a community where everyone's contributions are valued. 💖🌍 #EmpowerThroughUnity #CommunityStrength #TogetherWeThrive
