Tomorrow is my official go live day - Mai Sushi Area Manager covering from Oxford to Aberdeen. I took two days off last week to take time, energise and get ready. I watched America’s Sweethearts. Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. I’m empowered and inspired. Focussed. DCC have a culture - a lifestyle, a family. Based on results. Not emotion. Fact, supported with feelings of love and care. From 1000’s to just 36 women. High performers for 5 years if they want it. What a foundation to build on. I’m going into this week building a culture of respect, inspiration and empowerment. Built with integrity and care. To be that leader of a brand that people want to thrive with, empowered to deliver the best, standout as a winning team and be bold to work united. Theater Alliance was so pleased to join Booz Allen Hamilton at The Anthem for their Booz Allen Excellence Awards! The talented team of Theater Alliance artists and youth "brought the magic" to the evening of WOW led by Natalie Ade, Kari Merkel, and team. Arts organizations get asked to perform at these kind of events all the time - and as an artistic leader, we get asked to make those decisions. For me, the question always comes down to #values. Does the organization align with our values of integrity, diversity, and excellence? Does the organization value artists? Does the organization live their values? With #BoozAllenHamilton, the answer was a resounding YES. Even in the first conversation about the event, we didn't talk about what they needed or how to make all their dreams come true on a tiny budget. Instead, we talked about what they believe in and what we believe in - we talked about the WHY of our organizations. AJ started her career with Schneider as a Freight Broker in 2018, and grew into a Team lead, followed by a promotion into a Broker Operations Manager role in 2021. Her true passion is being a leader. We are proud of our own Ina Kota and Silvana Zenere who contributed to the recently published Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants (AESC) report, "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Creating Competitive Advantage Through Fairness, Inclusion and Belonging." In its research, AESC asked business leaders to identify the highest impact DEI strategies in their organizations. The top three strategies are: 1. Foster a safe and inclusive environment. 2. Randall Grahm The Vision, brilliant and thoughtful, playful and innovative, a short time spent with Bonny Doon Vineyards under the leadership of Mr. Grahm firmly cemented the creativity applied to every project tackled.
